Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series 636D is a fixed-range differential pressure transmitter designed for measuring pressures of compatible gases, liquids, or vapors. The unit features an all stainless steel construction with Types 316L SS wetted materials to endure harsh environmental and media conditions. It is CSA approved explosion-proof for use in hazardous locations (Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, and D; Class II, Groups E, F, and G; Class III) and meets NACE standards for offshore applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series 636D delivers an accuracy of ±0.5% FS (includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability) with a stability of ±1.0% F.S./yr. The compensated temperature range is -20 to 160°F (-29 to 71°C), while the thermal effect is specified as ±2% F.S./50°F (reference to 77°F). Ambient operating temperatures span -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C); process interface and storage limits are rated from -40 to 212°F (-40 to 100°C).
Pressure handling capabilities include a limit of 3 x FS differential pressure with a burst rating of 2500 psig. The response time is 20 ms, and the unit maintains performance within ±0.05 psi/90° rotation from horizontal mounting orientation.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output signals and measurement ranges to address specific process needs:
- Output Signals: 4-20 mA DC or optional 1-5 VDC. Power requirements are 12-30 VDC for current outputs and 8-14 VDC for voltage outputs, both with reverse polarity protection.
- Measurement Ranges: Available in nine fixed ranges from 0 to 6 psid up to 0 to 500 psid (specifically: 0–6, 0–15, 0–30, 0–60, 0–100, 0–150, 0–200, 0–300, and 0–500 psid).
- Enclosure & Connections: Features a NEMA 4 (IP56) all-316 welded construction housing. Process connections consist of two 1/2" female NPT ports; electrical connection includes a 2 ft, 22 AWG cable and a 3/4" female NPT conduit.
- Options: A NIST traceable calibration certificate is available (order code: NISTCAL-PT1).
Key Product Differences
The Series 636D distinguishes between output types via model suffixes. Models ending in "-LP" denote the optional 1-5 VDC output, while standard models provide a 4-20 mA DC output (e.g., 636D-0 for 4–20 mA vs. 636D-0-LP for 1–5 VDC). Both variants share identical measurement ranges and physical specifications.
Zero and span adjustments are fixed; the transmitter is not field serviceable and must be returned to Dwyer if repair is needed.
