Supported Applications

The Omega TMW series consists of Style TMW-2 immersion heaters designed for small tank applications. The documented application is clean water heating.

Operating Conditions & Performance

These copper sheath elements operate on 120 and 240 Volt, Single Phase power supplies. Power ratings range from 750 to 5,000 Watts with watt densities between 64 W/in² and 86 W/In² depending on the specific model configuration.

The series features a copper sheath element with a diameter of 0.315" Dia. Element. The process connection is provided via a 1¼" NPT Screw Plug (brass). Units are supplied without a terminal cover or thermowell.

Configuration Options

The TMW series offers configurable wattage and voltage combinations to meet specific heating loads within the documented envelope. Key selection parameters include:

  • Power Ratings: 750, 1,000, 1,250, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500, 3,000, 4,000, and 5,000 Watts.
  • Voltage Options: 120 V or 240 V (Single Phase).
  • Watt Density: Ranges from 64 W/in² to 86 W/In² across the series models.
  • Housing and Connection: All variants utilize a 1¼" NPT Brass Screw Plug with a 0.315" Dia. Element copper sheath.

The model number format follows TMW-<WATTAGE_CODE><VOLTAGE_CODE>/<VOLTAGE>, such as the example TMW-212A/120 for a 1,250 Watt, 120 V unit.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by wattage output and voltage rating. The physical dimension labeled "DIM B (In.)" varies according to the power level:

  • 750 W Models: DIM B is 6-1/8 in.
  • 1,250 W Models: DIM B is 7-7/8 in.
  • 1,500 W Models: DIM B is 9-1/16 in.
  • 2,000 W Models: DIM B is 6-5/8 in. (Foldback configuration).
  • Higher Wattage Models: Dimensions increase with power; for example, the 3,000 W model has a DIM B of 10-3/16 in., and the 5,000 W model reaches 16-15/16 in.

The series carries UL and CSA approvals. All listed variants are supplied without terminal covers or thermowells as standard configuration.
