The Omega TM Series consists of flanged immersion heaters designed for clean water applications with a pH range of 6 to 8. These units are specified for non-corrosive water solutions or weak alkaline and acid content up to 1% by volume, including sodium carbonate, sodium chlorate, and other neutral salts.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TM Series operates at power ratings from 6 kW to 150 kW. Electrical supply options include 240 Vac and 480 Vac in both single-phase (1) and three-phase (3P) configurations. The heaters feature a pressure rating of 150 lb and utilize sturdy copper elements with a diameter of 0.475".

Design specifications indicate an element loading density of 45 W/in² for the standard flange configurations. Safety requirements mandate that approved pressure and/or temperature limited controls be used to ensure safe operation in the event of system malfunctions.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable dimensions across two primary flange sizes, with options for different enclosure types based on environmental needs.

  • Flange Sizes: 3" and 5" high-grade steel flanges (150 lb).
  • Element Configuration: 3 copper sheath elements for the 3" flange; 6 copper sheath elements for the 5" flange.
  • Enclosure Types:
    • E-1: General Purpose Terminal Enclosure (NEMA 1 Rated).
    • E-2: Moisture Resistant / Explosion Resistant Enclosure.
    • E-3: Explosion Resistant Enclosure.
    • E-4: Moisture Resistant Enclosure.
  • Approvals: UL Listed and CSA Certified for General Purpose and Moisture Resistant enclosures. CSA NRTL/C certified for Explosion Resistant enclosures (not intended for hazardous areas).

Larger flange sizes and kW ratings beyond the standard catalog are available upon request.

  • Voltage Specification: Model numbers require explicit voltage designation (240 or 480). The suffix "/3P" is added to model numbers for three-phase power configurations.
  • Enclosure Suffixes: General purpose enclosures are standard; moisture-resistant and explosion-resistant options carry specific E-series designators in the part number (e.g., TM-6125E4).
