Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series LLC is a solid-state conductivity level controller designed for single point or differential liquid level service. It controls valves, pumps, and alarms in systems handling electrically conductive fluids.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates on 120 VAC or 240 VAC power supplies (factory set), with a tolerance of plus 10%, minus 15% at 50/60 Hz. The controller housing is rated for an ambient temperature range of -40 to 150°F (-40 to 65°C). Probes are designed for process temperatures up to 406°F (207°C) and pressure ratings of 400 psig (27 bar).

Performance specifications include a standard response time of 0.5 seconds on rising level. Sensitivity settings range from 10K Ω to 100K Ω, with maximum probe wire distances varying by sensitivity character; for example, the A or K setting supports up to 10,000 feet (4.7 K Ohms), while the G or S setting supports 38 feet (1,000 K Ohms). The controller features SPDT (1 form C) contacts with one normally open and one normally closed non-powered contact.

Configuration Options

The Series LLC offers configurable options for mounting, sensitivity, and probe length to accommodate specific installation needs:

  • Housing & Mounting: Available with an 8-Pin Octal socket or DIN rail mount socket. Enclosure options include None (Blank), NEMA 1, or NEMA 4.
  • Sensitivity Settings: Configurable for Direct operation at 10K Ω, 26K Ω, 50K Ω, or 100K Ω.
  • Probe Dimensions & Materials: Probes feature a rugged 1/4" (6.3 mm) diameter with wetted materials of 316 SS and PTFE. The process connection is 3/8" male NPT, requiring Threaded Mounted Couplings (model LLC-82). Probe lengths are available in 1-foot increments up to a maximum of 72" (1.92 m).
  • Optional Features: Time delays on rising and/or falling levels are available as an option.

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into controller models and probe accessories, distinguished by supply voltage, sensitivity, socket style, and length. Controller model numbers follow the format LLC-<Supply Voltage>-<Sensitivity>-<Socket Style>. For example:

  • 120 VAC Models: Include LLC-118 (10K Ω, 8-Pin Octal), LLC-128 (26K Ω, 8-Pin Octal), LLC-115 (10K Ω, DIN Mount), and LLC-125 (26K Ω, DIN Mount).
  • 240 VAC Models: Include LLC-218 (10K Ω, 8-Pin Octal), LLC-228 (26K Ω, 8-Pin Octal), LLC-215 (10K Ω, DIN Mount), and LLC-225 (26K Ω, DIN Mount).
  • Probes: Models LLC-31 through LLC-36 correspond to lengths of 1 foot (.3 m) through 6 feet (1.8 m). Model LLC-82 is the required coupling for each probe.
