Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series PGV Compact Plug Valves are designed to stop forward flow in instrumentation and process systems. The combination of 1/4 turn operation and low operating torque allows for quick opening and closing, providing positive shut off.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is rated for pressures up to 3000 psig (207 bar) with stainless steel or brass bodies. For models featuring a 2.3 mm or 4.4 mm orifice, the pressure rating is 2000 psig (138 bar). The process temperature range spans -10 to 400°F (-23 to 240°C). Media compatibility includes gases and liquids compatible with the specified wetted materials.
Configuration Options
The Series PGV offers a one-piece body construction available in two primary material families: Brass or 316 Stainless Steel. Process connections are offered as Fractional Tube Fitting or Female NPT. The series supports various inlet and outlet sizes, including 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2".
Wetted materials include:
- Body: 316 SS or brass
- O-rings: PTFE coated fluorocarbon FKM
- Plug: PTFE coated 316 SS or PTFE coated brass
Orifice sizes available in the series include 0.093 (2.3), 0.172 (4.4), and 0.283 (7.2) inches.
Key Product Differences
The model number structure follows the format: PGV - <Valve Body> - <Connection Type> - <Inlet Size> - <Outlet Size> - <Orifice in (mm)>. Examples include PGV-BD11, PGV-BF12, PGV-SD11, and PGV-SF12. Variations are distinguished by the valve body material (Brass vs. 316 Stainless Steel), connection type (Fractional Tube Fitting vs. Female NPT), port sizes, and orifice dimensions.
