Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series CS and CD Compact Diaphragm Pressure Switches are designed for instrument panels, small compressors, and general industrial applications. These units feature a visible set point and an easy-to-wire SPDT snap switch to reduce installation time. The series operates in any position and is vibration resistant.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series CS-CD supports adjustable operating ranges across vacuum, low pressure, and higher pressure spans:

  • Vacuum/Low Pressure: 1-30" Hg. Vac. (25.4-762 mm Hg) for model CS-1; 1-100 in w.c. (25-24.9 kPa) for model CS-3.
  • Low Pressure: 1-10 psig (.07-.69 bar) for models CS-10 and CD-10; 1-30 psig (.07-2.1 bar) for models CS-30 and CD-30.
  • Higher Pressure: 10-150 psig (.69-10.3 bar) for models CS-150 and CD-150.

Ambient temperature limits are -30 to 150°F (-35 to 66°C). Maximum pressure ratings vary by model: 30 psig (2.1 bar) for ranges 1, 3, and 10; 50 psig (3.5 bar) for range 30; and 175 psig (12.1 bar) for range 150.

Configuration Options

The series offers distinct deadband configurations depending on the model family:

  • Series CS Models: Feature a fixed deadband. Values include 1.5" Hg. (38 mm Hg) for CS-1, 7 in w.c. (1.74 kPa) for CS-3, 0.4 psig (0.03 bar) for CS-10, 1.0 psig (0.07 bar) for CS-30, and 5 psig (0.35 bar) for CS-150.
  • Series CD Models: Feature an adjustable deadband. Ranges include Min: 1.5 psig (.1 bar), Max: 11.5 psig (.79 bar) for CD-10; Min: 2 psig (.14 bar), Max: 12 psig (.83 bar) for CD-30; and Min: 14 psig (.97 bar), Max: 24 psig (1.7 bar) for CD-150.

Wetted materials consist of Nylon reinforced Buna-N and steel. The enclosure is rated as General purpose with a 1/4" female NPT process connection. Electrical ratings are specified as 15 A @ 120 VAC, 8 A @ 240 VAC for the series data sheet specifications.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between Series CS and CD models is the deadband configuration. Series CS units utilize a fixed deadband mechanism with specific values defined per model range. In contrast, Series CD units (CD-10, CD-30, CD-150) provide an adjustable deadband capability within specified minimum and maximum limits.

Both series share the same SPDT snap switch type, internal screw set point adjustment, 1/2" hole for conduit hub connection, and weight of .5 lb (0.23 kg). Agency approvals include CE and UL.
