Supported Applications

The ntron Yellow Box Portable Oxygen Analyser is a compact, transportable instrument designed for high accuracy oxygen measurement. Based on the Microx range of Oxygen Analysers, it incorporates two selectable analysers to address application-dependent requirements. The series supports primary instrumentation verification across an extensive range of applications where portable line-powered analysis is required.

Typical measurement ranges include 0...1000 ppmv and percentage oxygen levels up to 25% or 96%, depending on the configured sensor model.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Yellow Box operates within an ambient temperature range of -25...+60 °C (-13...+140 °F) and supports humidity levels from 0...95 %rh non-condensing. The internal preset pressure rating is up to 2 barg (29 psig), with a recommended sample flow rate of 500 ml/min.

Performance specifications include:

  • Sensor Type: Zirconia Oxide
  • Accuracy: 2% of FSD (Full Scale Deflection)
  • Resolution: 1 ppmv or 0.01 %
  • Lower Detection Limit (LDL): 1 ppmv or 0.01 %
  • Response Time (T90): < 15 seconds @ 25 °C (77 °F) within selected range
  • Sensor Life Expectancy: Up to 5 years, depending on air exposure and other gases

The unit features a robust carry-case with an IP67 rating when closed for transportation. It is powered by 85...264 V AC (50 / 60 Hz) with a maximum power consumption of 8 W per analyzer channel.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable sensor options to match specific measurement needs:

  • Model 100: Zirconia (ZR) sensor with a range of 0...1000 ppmv and 0...25 %.
  • Model 200: Configured for percentage analysis, typically covering ranges such as 0-96% or 0-25% depending on the specific analyzer channel selected via the internal switch.
  • Model 300: Supports multiple measurement capabilities including 0...1000 ppmv, 0...25 %, and 0...96 % ranges within a single unit configuration.

The instrument includes an in-built flow indicator to ensure the correct amount of sample gas is presented to the internal sensors. An optional battery-powered configuration (Backup battery @ 12VDC , 2.3AH) allows for remote operation where mains power is unavailable or as a backup during failure.

Key Product Differences

Differences between models are primarily defined by the sensor range and physical dimensions:

  • Dimensions (mm):
  • Model 100: 410 x 300 x 165.5 mm
  • Models 200 & 300: 350 x 300 x 150 mm

All models utilize a high impact co-polymer polypropylene housing and feature sample connections via 6 mm or 1/4" 'bulkhead' tube compression fittings. The unit includes an analyzer select switch to choose between the internal analyzers, with output available as 4...20 mA.

Compliance standards include CE marking and EMC: EN 50270. Users should note that over-pressure at the sample gas input or moisture in the stream can damage the internal sensors, particularly when un-powered.
