Supported Applications
The Omega TXUN-ST/FM Series is a 2-wire programmable transmitter designed for RTD, TC (thermocouple), Ohm, or mV inputs. The series features extremely high measurement accuracy and includes the TXUN-FM variant specifically configured with FM approval.
- Designed for DIN form B sensor head mounting
- In non-hazardous areas, the TXUN-ST can be mounted on a DIN rail
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It provides 1.5 kVAC galvanic isolation with a test voltage of 1.5 kVAC and operation at 50 VAC. The warm-up time is specified as 5 min.
Accuracy Specifications
- All inputs: ≤ ±0.05% of span (general accuracy)
- RTD: ≤ ±0.2°C basic accuracy; temperature coefficient ≤ ±0.01°C / °C
- Lin. R: ≤ ±0.1 Ω basic accuracy; temperature coefficient ≤ ±10 mΩ / °C
- Volt: ≤ ±10 μV basic accuracy; temperature coefficient ≤ ±1 μV / °C
- TC type E, J, K, L, N, T, U: ≤ ±1°C basic accuracy; temperature coefficient ≤ ±0.05°C / °C
- TC type B, R, S, W3, W5, LR: ≤ ±2°C basic accuracy; temperature coefficient ≤ ±0.2°C / °C
The programmable response time ranges from 1...60 s. Signal dynamics are rated at 20 bit for input and 16 bit for output.
Power & Electrical Limits
- Standard supply voltage: 7.2...35 VDC
- CSA, FM, ATEX, IECEx & INMETRO versions: 7.2...30 VDC
- Voltage drop: 7.2 VDC
- Internal power dissipation (Standard): 25 mW...0.8 W
- Internal power dissipation (CSA, FM, ATEX, IECEx & INMETRO): 25 mW...0.7 W
Configuration Options
The TXUN-ST series supports multiple configuration options defined by version code, ambient temperature rating, and galvanic isolation level.
Hazardous Location Approvals & Versions
- Standard Version: A (CSA)
- Certified Versions: D (includes CSA, FM, ATEX, IECEx & INMETRO approvals)
Configuration Options
- Ambient Temperature Code 3 corresponds to -40°C...+85°C
- Galvanic Isolation Code B provides 1500 VAC isolation
- Communications interface: Loop Link
The series includes an EEprom error check function with a duration of less than 3.5 s.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the family is between the standard TXUN-ST and the FM-approved version, designated as TXUN-FM. The model number structure follows the pattern: TXUN-ST - - - . For example, a configuration with Standard Version A, Ambient Code 3, and Galvanic Isolation B is ordered as TXUN-ST A 3 B.
The series offers two distinct power supply ranges depending on the approval version: standard models accept up to 35 VDC, while CSA, FM, ATEX, IECEx & INMETRO approved versions are limited to a maximum of 30 VDC. Similarly, internal power dissipation limits differ between these configurations.

Can I program the output of the 4-20ma to equal 0 degrees F to 300 degrees F. i.e. 4ma=0F and 20ma=300F with a 100ohm RTD 32-492F range.
You can scale the PT100 RTD to any values within the sensors range using the TXUN-KIT programming module sold as an accessory.
