  • pH Measurement: General purpose ranges of 0 to 12 pH and extended high-pH applications up to 0 to 14 pH.
  • ORP (Redox) Measurement: Sensors featuring platinum band or gold disc elements for redox potential monitoring, including specific configurations for cyanide applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a process temperature range of 0 to 80 °C (32 to 176 °F) for standard ABS-bodied models. For high-temperature requirements, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) bodies are available with an operating limit up to 120°C (248°F). In-line disposable electrodes in the series support a broader temperature range of -5 to 100 °C (23 to 212 °F).

Key performance parameters documented for specific models include:

  • pH Ranges: 0 to 12 pH, 0 to 14 pH.
  • ORP Capability: Redox measurement with platinum band or gold disc sensing elements.
  • Pressure Rating: In-line disposable electrodes are rated for 150 psi.

Voltage and Resistance Specifications

The series includes models with specific resistance values at 25°C (77°F):

  • PHE-7151-15: Refillable general purpose, R M Ω = 400.
  • PHE-7351-15: Sealed gel-filled general purpose, R M Ω = 400.
  • PHE-7152-15: Refillable high pH applications, R M Ω = 1000.

In-Line Disposable Electrode Specifications

The in-line disposable sub-series (PHE-53xx and ORE-5xxx) offers the following documented ranges:

  • PHE-5312-10: 0 to 14 pH, -5 to 80 °C (23 to 176 °F), R M Ω = 200.
  • PHE-5412-10: Double junction high pH, 0 to 14 pH, -5 to 100 °C (23 to 212 °F).
  • ORE-5419-10: Gold disc double junction for cyanide applications.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options across housing materials, sensor types, and accessories to accommodate diverse industrial installations. The PHE-7151 Series combination electrodes feature an annular PTFE liquid junction and a special plunger design allowing mounting at any angle.

Housing and Wetted Materials

  • Standard Body: ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).
  • High-Temperature Option: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) body, available by adding the "PPS" suffix to the model number.
  • Liquid Junction: Annular PTFE liquid junction on refillable models.

Sensor Types and Fill Systems

  • Refillable Electrodes: Models such as the PHE-7151-15 include a refill port for electrolyte maintenance. Refill solutions are available in 4 oz (PHFS-7151-4) and 16 oz (PHFS-7151-16) bottles.
  • Sealed Gel Electrodes: Models such as the PHE-7351-15 utilize a gel-filled system for maintenance-free operation.
  • In-Line Disposable: A and B type disposable electrodes with ¾ MNPT threads at both ends, designed for single-use or high-contamination environments.

Electrical Connections and Cabling

  • Connector Type: Standard configuration includes a BNC connector.
  • Cable Lengths: Industrial electrodes include 4.6 m (15') of cable; in-line disposable models feature specific lengths such as the PHE-7351-10 with integrated cabling.
  • Extension Cables: Heavy-duty BNC-to-BNC extension cables are available in 3.0 m (10 ft), 7.6 m (25 ft), and 15.3 m (50 ft) lengths (Models PHEC-B10HD, PHEC-B25HD, PHEC-B50HD).

Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC)

  • Optional ATC: 100 Ω PT RTD sensors are available as an option for pH electrodes to enable automatic temperature compensation.
  • Note on ORP: Automatic temperature compensation is not required with ORP (redox) electrodes in this series.

  • PHE-7151 Series (Refillable): Rugged combination electrodes with ABS bodies, refill ports, and 4.6 m cables. Available in general purpose (-12 pH) and high-pH (-14 pH) versions.
  • PHE-7351 Series (Sealed Gel): Maintenance-free gel-filled sensors for general-purpose applications with the same physical dimensions as the refillable series.

What is the expected service life for a PHE-7351-15-HF? The probe is mounted in a half inch process cooling water line using a T union. There is approximately 2LPM of DI water flowing across the probe face.

Thank you for your question? pH electrodes are fragile and have a limited life span. The general shelf life of a pH probe is 1 year however how long an electrode will last is determined by how well the probe is maintained and the pH application. The harsher the system, the shorter the lifespan.

Are these compatible with Rosemount 5081 & 3081 transmitters?

Thank you for your inquiry about the pH probes. Omega's pH probes have a standard BCN connector and if the transmitter in question have it as well, then, yes. If not, unfortuanately, they ar enot compatible.

Is this model able to a process with sulfuric acid and caustic soda? What are the connectors of ATC and PH in this model?

Thank you for your inquiry! This probe will be compatible with sulfuric acid and caustic soda. The probe has a BNC connector for the pH portion and lead wires for the ATC.
