Supported Applications
The ACI TSENSE series is a wall-mountable transmitter designed for measuring indoor air carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration, temperature, and relative humidity in residential and commercial spaces. The unit connects to Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems via analog outputs or communication protocols. Documented applications include energy efficiency strategies in commercial office buildings, hospitals, hotels, schools, and other facilities requiring indoor air quality monitoring.
The series incorporates non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology for CO2 sensing and complies with ASHRAE 189.1 standards as well as CA Bill 841 requirements to support healthy occupant environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TSENSE series operates within an ambient temperature range of 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C) and a relative humidity environment of 0-95% RH non-condensing. Storage temperatures are rated from -22°F to 158°F (-30°F to 70°F). The device requires a supply voltage of 12 VDC or 24 VAC/VDC (±20%, half-wave rectified, 50-60 Hz), with power consumption under 0.35W average for the non-display version and less than 0.6W for the display version.
Performance specifications include:
- CO2 Measurement Range: 0 to 2000 ppm (standard) or optional 0 to 3000 ppm.

- Pressure Dependence: ±1.6% per 0.145 psi (1 kPa) deviation from normal pressure (1 Atmosphere = 14.7 psi / 1.013 KPa).
The CO2 sensor utilizes the Senseair ABC algorithm for Automatic Baseline Correction, with a typical sensor life exceeding 15 years.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output signals and communication protocols to suit various control system requirements. Standard analog outputs are pre-programmed as linear 0-10 VDC signals for CO2, temperature, and relative humidity on terminals OUT(1), OUT(2), and OUT(3). Alternative output ranges can be configured using PC software (UIP version 5 or higher) via a USB communication cable.
Output & Communication Options:
- Analog Voltage Output: 0 to 10V, R out <100Ω, Load >5KΩ with 10-bit resolution (10mV/steps).
- Digital Protocols: Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP.
- Relay Output: Form C, SPDT rated at 1A @ 50 VAC / 24 VDC. The relay trip point is factory set to 1000 ppm CO2 with a deadband/hysteresis of 100 ppm; the input source can be configured via touchscreen or software.
- Baud Rates: 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 76800, 115200 for communication protocols.
Housing & Physical Configuration:
- Enclosure Material: Bayblend FR3000 (PC & ABS blend) with a flammability rating of UL 94V-0.

Display & Configuration:
- TSENSE-LCD models feature a configurable color touch display showing CO2 (PPM), Temperature, and Humidity (%RH). Settings can be adjusted via the touchscreen or using the TTL-232R-3V3-AJ programming cable.
- Standard TSENSE models without an LCD require the TTL-232R-3V3-AJ programming cable and UIP5 software for configuration, BACnet/Modbus setup, or setting changes.
Key Product Differences
The series is available in two primary configurations distinguished by display capability:
- TSENSE-LCD (Item #135458): Includes a touch screen menu for local configuration and monitoring. Weight: 0.414 lbs (0.188kg).
- TSENSE Standard (Item #135459): No display; requires external programming cable for all settings adjustments. Weight: 0.361 lbs (0.166kg).
Additional options include Custom Calibration (Item #140970) and the USB to Serial Programming Cable, TTL-232R-3V3-AJ (Item #137011). The series supports a maximum coverage area of 7500 sq. ft., with recommended mounting heights between 4-6' off the floor.
