Supported Applications

The Dwyer Model ANE-1 is a bi-directional differential pressure anemometer designed for measuring air velocity in clean air only. It functions as a mechanical sensing element with no moving parts or internal electronics, connecting to external manometers or applicable pressure sensing devices to determine flow rates.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within ambient and process temperature limits of 23 to 122°F (-5 to 50°C). The device is specified for service in clean air only; accuracy retention depends on the installed manometer and requires the unit to remain dust-free. A K-Factor of 0.843 is provided for velocity calculations based on barometric pressure, absolute temperature, and velocity pressure.

Configuration Options

The Model ANE-1 includes a complete assembly with specific tubing configurations and adapters to facilitate connection to various sensing instruments:

• Housing & Materials: The anemometer body is constructed from ABS plastic, the handle from phenolic material, and the included tubing from silicone.
• Included Tubing: 5' of blue and 5' of red silicone tubing (2 mm ID x 4.5 mm OD).
• Adapters & Connections: A removable adapter sized 2 mm OD to 3/16" OD is included, featuring two removable 5" clear silicone tubes with 3/16" ID and 3/8" OD.
• Process Connection Details: The unit provides 2 removable 5" (12.7 cm) tubing sections with a 3/16" ID for connection to pressure ports.

Key Product Differences

The Model ANE-1 is offered as a single configuration described in the series data sheet. The unit weighs 7.7 oz (220 g). Installation requires connecting the red tubing to the positive pressure port and the blue tubing to the negative pressure port on the external instrument, with the anemometer head oriented into the air stream according to directional arrows.
