Supported Applications

The Omega MBS series provides bezel strip mounting solutions designed for pre-wired SMPW miniature thermocouple connectors. This designer panel mount system is intended to organize multiple connector positions within a single rectangular cutout in an instrument or control panel.

Key application features include:

• Mounting of ANSI color-coded SMP connectors
• Individual insertion and removal of pre-wired connectors from the strip
• Integration into panels requiring up to 12 connector positions

Operating Conditions & Performance

The MBS bezel strips are rated for operation at temperatures up to 149°C (300°F). The system features a textured black finish that accents the ANSI color-coded connectors. Installation requires no mounting hardware, utilizing a lock tab mechanism.

Important installation notes:

• SMP Connectors and aluminum panels are not included with the bezel strip
• The unit is designed for one panel opening regardless of position count

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable lengths based on the number of connector positions required. Models range from 2 to 12 positions, identified by model numbers MBS-02 through MBS-12.

• Cutout height: 2.54 cm (1") for all models
• Overall height: 3.10 cm (1.22")
• Depth: 2.95 cm (1.16")

The cutout width and overall width vary by position count:

• MBS-02: Cutout Width 3.07 cm (1.21"); Overall Width 3.35 cm (1.32")
• MBS-04: Cutout Width 6.58 cm (2.59"); Overall Width 6.86 cm (2.70")
• MBS-06: Cutout Width 10.1 cm (3.96"); Overall Width 10.3 cm (4.07")
• MBS-08: Cutout Width 13.6 cm (5.34"); Overall Width 13.8 cm (5.45")
• MBS-12: Cutout Width 20.6 cm (8.09"); Overall Width 20.8 cm (8.20")

Options and Accessories

Dust caps are available as an accessory to protect the connectors when not in use:

• MPJ-CAP-12: Package of 12 dust caps

Key Product Differences

Variation within the MBS series is defined strictly by the number of connector positions, which dictates the physical width and model designation. The height, depth, cutout height, finish, temperature rating, and mounting method remain consistent across all models from 2 to 12 positions.
