Supported Applications
The Omega FMG-800 Series is a full-bore, plastic-bodied electromagnetic flow meter designed for flow and usage monitoring applications in 1, 2, and 3 inch pipe. The series supports wells, industrial wastewater, heap leach mining discharge, cooling tower deduct, turf, landscape, and other water reclamation applications.
With no moving parts, the magmeter permits unobstructed flow, minimizing flow disturbances and straight pipe requirements. This design allows use in piping configurations where there is little space between the meter and an elbow or valve. The series is resistant to wear from sand and debris found in ground or surface water.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FMG-800 Series operates with a process temperature range of 10° to 130° F (12° to 54° C) operating, and -40° to 176° F (-40° to 80° C) non-operating. The meter supports a working pressure of 150 psi or 10.3 bar @ 70° F.
Accuracy is specified as +/-1% of reading (between 10% and 100% of max flow) and +/-3% of reading (between cutoff and 10% of max flow). The series requires a minimum conductivity of >20 microSiemens/cm. Flow ranges vary by pipe size:
- 1 inch: 2.3 GPM (.145 LPS) to 110 GPM (6.94 LPS)
- 2 inch: 6 GPM (.38 LPS) to 300 GPM (18.9 LPS)
- 3 inch: 14 GPM (.88 LPS) to 670 GPM (42.3 LPS)
The enclosure rating is NEMA 4X standard.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable power, output signals, and process connections across the documented envelope:
- Power Supply: FMG80x models use 6 each AA alkaline cells (replaceable) with an estimated life of 1 year depending on usage. FMG81x models operate on 10-30 Vdc @ 60 mA max (15 mA average).
- Output Signals: The series supports a built-in rate and total indicator. FMG81x models include a current sinking pulse, opto isolated output at 32 Vdc max at 16 mA max.
- Pulse Rates (FMG81x Only): Low Frequency offers 1 unit/pulse out with a pulse width of 10ms. High Frequency (-HF) options provide a pulse width of 1.1 ms, min - max frequency of 3 - 150 hz.
- Process Connections: Available in 1 inch NPTF, or 2 and 3 inch flange clamps with 2 or 3 inch NPTF fitting kit (included on 2" and 3" models).
The electronics housing is diecast aluminum, powder-coated. Wetted materials include glass-filled polypropylene for the body and 316 stainless steel electrodes.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between battery-powered (FMG80x) and DC-powered (FMG81x) configurations:
- Battery Powered Models (FMG801, FMG802, FMG803): Designed for standalone operation with replaceable AA alkaline cells. These units include a built-in display but do not feature the pulse output found in DC models.
- DC Powered Models (FMG811, FMG812, FMG813): Require 10-30 Vdc power and include a current sinking pulse output for remote reading, data logging, and telemetry applications. These units ship with a 6 m (20') cable.
- High Frequency Output (-HF Suffix): Available on DC models (FMG811-HF, FMG812-HF, FMG813-HF) to provide higher pulse rates for specific telemetry needs.
Accessories include the FTB700-T remote 4 to 20 mA transmitter and the FTB700-D remote rate and total display for wall mount applications.

FMG810 does NOT have pulse output
I believe the model numbers (FMG800 and FMG810) are reversed in the description as to which one provides a pulse output. I believe the FMG800 requires a permanent power supply (non-battery operated) but provides a pulse output signal. The battery-operated FMG810 does NOT provide a pulse output.

Your Website has an error... The spec sheet and description both say the 2" flow meter is rate from 6 to 300 gpm but the drop down parts finder has it listed as 6 to 100 gpm
Thank you for your inquiry about the magnetic flow meter. Yes, it is an error and thank you pointing it out. The correct flow range for the 2 inch is 6 to 300 GPM.

It can be used for sulfuric acid between 70 to 90%. ? Se puede usar para acido sulfurico entre 70 a 90 %. ?
Thank you for your inquiry. Please note that chemical compatibility is the responsibility of customers to check agains the wetted material of the product in question. As a courtesy, the 316 SS as a wetted material is not compatible and PP has a Fair affect or 'C' rating.
