Supported Applications

The Omega DPF10 Series Mini-Batcher is a 6-digit totalizer and 4.5-digit ratemeter designed for batching applications, including feed batching on dispensing trucks to control dispensed amounts per batch. The device supports Batching, Totalizing, and Rate Metering functions.

Key operational capabilities include:

• Display of Batch Amount, Rate, Batch Total, or Grand Total at the push of a button
• Preset control for two-stage batch operations using programmable relay outputs
• Data logging support via optional analog output
• Remote communication with host computers through RS422/RS232 serial interfaces (up to 99 units on a single loop)

Operating Conditions & Performance

The DPF10 series operates within an ambient temperature range of +32°F (0°C) to +130°F (+54°C), with storage temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) to +200°F (93°C). Humidity tolerance is rated at 0-90% Noncondensing. The unit features a NEMA 4X / IP65 front panel enclosure for protection against water and dust.

Performance specifications include:

• Ratemeter Accuracy: ±1 display digit (accurate to 4½ digits)
• Analog Output Accuracy: ±25% FS worst case
• Update Rate: Updates once per second for the ratemeter; programmable sampling from 2 to 24 seconds maximum
• Pulse Input Speed: High impedance DC pulse input up to 10 kHz max.; Magnetic pickup (3M) input accepts 30mV signals at 5 kHz max.

The display resolution is 6 digits with a 0.55" high LED. Memory retention via EEPROM stores data for 10 years if power is lost.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable inputs, outputs, and communication options to suit specific process needs:

• Sensor Inputs: Supports High Impedance DC pulse input (4-30 VDC high / 0-1 VDC low) or Magnetic Pickup Input (accepts 30mV signals).
• Control Outputs: Two N.O. Relay outputs rated at 5 Amps, 120/240 VAC or 28 VDC. Options include N.C. relay contacts and NPN transistor output via solder jumpers (transistor sinks from 10 VDC to 0.5 V @ 100 mA).
• Analog Output: Optional 4-20mA or 0-20mA output assignable for Rate or Batch Amount tracking.
• Communication: RS422/RS232 Serial Communication Interface option allows linking up to 99 units on a single loop.
• Power Supply Options: Available in 110 VAC ±15%, 220 VAC ±15%, or 24 VAC ±15%; DC options include 12 to 15 VDC for all voltage classes.

The unit features a user-programmable K-Factor (Scaling Factor) from 0.0001 to 99999 with decimal placement flexibility, allowing conversion of input pulses into engineering units. A Security Lockout feature prevents unauthorized front panel changes via a 5-digit code.

Key Product Differences

The DPF11-12 series includes variants distinguished by power supply and output configurations:

• DPF11 / DPF11-A: Models with standard relay outputs; the "A" suffix indicates specific analog or communication options depending on configuration.
• DPF12 / DPF12-24VAC / DPF12-A: Variants optimized for 24 VAC power supply operation, suitable for industrial control environments requiring lower voltage AC inputs.

All models share the same physical dimensions: overall height of 2.625 in (66.68 mm), width of 4.437 in (112.7 mm), and depth of 4.245 in (107.8 mm). Panel cutout requirements are 3.622 in (92 mm) wide by 1.772 in (45 mm) high.
