Supported Applications

The Omega TL-SL-BSJ series provides thermocouple terminal blocks, barrier strip jackets, and lugs designed for connecting thermocouple wires to instrumentation. The product line includes Barrier Strip Jackets with pre-installed Terminal Lugs or Spade Lugs, color-coded by calibration type. These components facilitate electrical connections in temperature measurement systems where specific alloy matching is required.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series housing material is glass-filled nylon with an ambient operating temperature rating of 220°C (425°F). Barrier Strip Jackets feature combination Phillips/slot screws. Spade lugs accept wire sizes from 24 AWG to 16 AWG. The product line carries RoHS approval.

Packaging and Accessories

• Barrier Strip Jackets: Sold in packages of 6 for up to 12 channels; available with terminal lugs or spade lugs installed.
• Lug Packages: Terminal Lugs (TL(*)-20) and Spade Lugs (SL(*)-20) are sold separately in packages of 20. Note that Spade Lugs are not available for C, D, and G calibrations.
• Crimping Tool: A crimping tool with ratchet action is included or offered as an accessory for attaching thermocouple spade lugs to wire.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between Barrier Strip Jackets (BSJ-(*)) which include the housing and pre-installed lugs, and standalone Terminal Lugs or Spade Lugs sold in bulk. Ordering requires specifying the alloy type from the provided chart and the calibration code (e.g., J, K, T, E, R/S, U, N). Model numbers follow patterns such as TLCH-20 for terminal lugs of CHROMEGA® alloy.

Spade Lugs are not available for Type C, D, and G calibrations. The series includes specific options for Type N (OMEGALLOY®) with distinct part codes SLNP-20/TLNP-20 and OMEGA-P® variants SLNN-20/TLNN-20.
