Supported Applications
The Omega AS-063 Series is an acceleration sensor designed for measuring vibrations on rotating machines. Documented applications include turbines, pumps, and compressors.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates according to the piezoelectric compression principle with an integrated amplifier that converts charge signals into a usable voltage signal. The sensor functions within an ambient temperature range of -55 °C ... +125 °C and is rated for storage in original packaging between -20 °C ... +70 °C.
Performance specifications include:
- Sensitivity: 100 mV/g ± 5 % (at 80 Hz / 23±3 °C), equivalent to 10,2 mV/m/s² ± 5 %.
- Frequency Response Accuracy: ±5 % from 4 Hz ... 10 kHz; ±3 dB at 1.5 Hz and 13 kHz.
- Temperature Stability: Sensitivity accuracy of ±5 % across -50 °C ... +120 °C.
- Resonance Frequency: 35kHz ± 3 kHz.
- Vibration Rating: Continuous load up to 500 g; shock rating of 5000 g in all directions.
The measurement range varies by supply voltage: ±80 g (Ub = +24 V...+30 V), ±40 g (Ub = +20 V), and ±20 g (Ub = +18 V). The enclosure is rated IP 66/67 per DIN 60529.
Configuration Options
The AS-063 Series features a stainless steel housing (Edelstahl 1.4301) with an overall length of ca. 55 mm and a diameter of ø21.5 mm. The sensor body length is 37 mm, with a hex width (SW) of 22.
Key configurable elements include:
- Process Connections: Threaded stud M8 x 14 or Threaded stud M8 x 1/4" 28 UNF.
- Electrical Connection: MIL C-5015 connector (Pin A = + SIG/4mA, Pin B = - 0V/GND).
- Power Supply & Output: Constant current power supply of 4 mA (Min. 2 mA / Max. 10 mA), polarised; Voltage supply Ub is +24 V (Min. +18 VDC / Max. +30 VDC). The output signal is SIG/4mA on A+ and 0V/GND on B-.
- Accessories: Connecting cable AO-0573-S-xxxx available in lengths of 3.0m, 5.0m, 10.0m, 15.0m, 20.0m, 25.0m, and 50.0m.
The sensor weighs approx. 130 g (without cable). Mounting requires a friction-locked, contact resonance-free, rigid attachment to the object using the supplied threaded stud; it can be mounted in any position.
