Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series AVUL Air Velocity Transmitters measure air velocity or volumetric flow in imperial or metric units. The series is designed for use with clean air and non-combustible, compatible gases. Models provide simultaneous current and voltage outputs to serve as universal inputs to monitoring equipment.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series AVUL operates within a process temperature range of 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C) with an ambient humidity rating of 5 to 95% RH, non-condensing. Accuracy is specified as ±(0.2 m/s + 5% of reading) or ±(0.2 m/s + 3% of reading) @ standard conditions, depending on the model selected.
- Measurement ranges are field selectable: 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 FPM (5, 10, 15, 20 m/s).
- The typical response time is 10 s (90%).
- Power requirements are 24 VDC ±20% or 24 VAC ±20%.
- Load resistance limits: Current output 0 to 1100 Ω max; Voltage output minimum load resistance 1 kΩ.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple configuration options for mounting, signal outputs, and communication protocols. The enclosure rating is NEMA 4X (IP66), with electrical connections via a 4-wire removable European style terminal block for 16 to 26 AWG wire.
- Accuracy: Models available in 3% or 5% of reading accuracy classes.
- Mounting: Duct mount configuration (code "D").
- Analog Outputs: Universal analog output code A1 provides simultaneous 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, and 4-20 mA signals. Output range, units, and voltage selection are configurable via local DIP switches.
- Communication Protocols (Optional): BACnet MS/TP (code "B1") or Modbus® RTU/ASCII (code "M1"). These options allow daisy-chained communication providing access to velocity, flow data, and air temperature information. Supported baud rates include 9600 through 115200.
- Display Options: Integral LCD display or the Model A-435-A remote display tool for local monitoring and configuration.
