Supported Applications
The Omega TVS-1000 Series is a portable, automated air velocity and temperature measurement system designed for research-quality single- or multi-point measurements. The series employs patented, fast-response, omni-directional sensors that measure both air temperature and velocity in one sensor to minimize flow disturbance. Documented applications include complex environments such as PCBs (printed circuit boards) and electronics enclosures where simultaneous temperature and velocity measurement at a single point is required to minimize errors from temperature gradients.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TVS-1000 Series scanners operate on 115 Vac, 60 to 50 Hz power. The system requires a PC for operation and utilizes provided software with a thermal analysis module for data acquisition and reporting.
- Temperature Range: -30 to 150°C (±1°C) (-22 to 302°F ±1.8°F)
- Velocity Range: 0 to 20 m/s (4000 ft/min) with an accuracy of ±2% at velocity; other ranges are available upon contacting OMEGA.
- Sensor Dimensions: Height is 12 mm (0.5"); Base Diameter is 9.5 mm (0.4"); Sensor Stem Diameter is 0.5 mm (0.02"); Bead Diameter is 1.1 mm (0.04").

A warning note states that an attempt to measure flows in temperatures higher than 85 °C would give erroneous data, even though the device can read temperatures up to 120 °C. These products are not designed for use in human applications.
Configuration Options
The series is factory expandable and supports configurations ranging from single-point measurements to multi-channel scanning systems. The TVS-1004 and TVS-1008 models support up to 4 and 8 sensors respectively, while the TVS-1100 series is factory expandable for up to 32 channels.

The system connects to a PC via an RS232 Port with USB adaptor. Measurement duration depends upon the PC storage limitation in save file mode, or is unlimited without saving data.

The TVS-1004 series is supplied with one miniature candlestick sensor for each channel, and the kit includes calibrated sensors, scanner, analysis software, power cord, and a complete operator's manual. Replacement parts include the TVS-1000-RP (replacement velocity/temperature sensor with calibration reference book) and TVS-1000-PS (replacement power cord and power supply).
