Supported Applications
The Omega RA-RB series comprises Standard Dimension Adaptors, Reducing Bushings, Omegalok® Compression Fittings, Metric Thread Adaptors, and Metric Omegalok® Compression Fittings. These components are used for connecting and adapting various types of threaded connections in industrial instrumentation and process systems. The fittings facilitate positive pressure sealing and heavy-duty applications.
Documented connection standards include:
- NPT (National Pipe Taper)
- BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads, including BS 2779
- Metric threads per ISO 228/1
Omegalok® compression fittings are designed for protection tubes with outer diameters ranging from 1/16" to 1/2", as well as metric tube sizes.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is constructed from materials selected for industrial durability, including brass, stainless steel (316 SS), and carbon steel. The fittings are designed specifically for positive pressure sealing in heavy-duty applications.
Material selection varies by component type:
- Adaptors & Bushings: Available in Brass (-BR) or Stainless Steel (-SS). Larger reducing bushing sizes (1 1/4" and above) are available only in Carbon Steel (*-CS).
- Compression Fittings: Offered in Brass (BRLK series) or 316 Stainless Steel (SSLK series).
The products are manufactured in the USA.
Configuration Options
The RA-RB series supports a wide envelope of configurations across four primary product families. Selection is driven by thread type, size reduction requirements, and material compatibility with process media or environmental conditions.
Adaptors & Reducing Bushings (RA/RB Series)
- NPT Adaptors: Convert between male and female NPT threads. Sizes range from 1/8" to 1", including cross-thread configurations such as RA-12-1-SS.
- Reducing Bushings: Reduce larger pipe sizes to smaller connections (e.g., RB-14-18 reduces 1/4" NPT female to 1/8" NPT male).
- Metric Thread Adaptors: Convert between Female NPT and Male BSPT, or other metric combinations. Model prefixes MTA1 through MTA4 denote specific thread configurations.
Omegalok® Compression Fittings
- Inch Series (BRLK/SSLK): Accommodate protection tube ODs from 1/16" to 1/2" with male NPT threads ranging from 1/8" to 1/2".
- Metric Series: Support metric protection tubes (e.g., 3.0 mm, 4.5 mm, 6.0 mm) connecting to NPT or BSP threads.
Ferrules & Accessories
- Replacement Ferrules: Sold in packages of 10 for tube ODs from 1/16" to 1/2". Materials include Brass (B-FER), Stainless Steel (SS-FER), and PTFE (T-FER).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by material composition, thread standard compatibility, and specific dimensional requirements.
- Material Codes: Model numbers suffix with -BR for Brass, -SS for Stainless Steel, or *-CS for Carbon Steel. Note that certain large reducing bushings (e.g., RB-114-34-CS) are available only in carbon steel.
- Thread Standards: Metric thread adaptors differentiate between BSPT (Tapered) and BSPP (Parallel) configurations, indicated by suffixes such as -T or -P on Omegalok® models (e.g., SSLK-18-14T vs. SSLK-18-14P).
- Ferrule Compatibility: PTFE ferrules are compatible only with stainless steel compression fittings.

A+ Company and products
This company has been very consistent with their customer service, availability, and pricing. I have never had an issue with them being late or having to move out parts I have asked for. This is a great company and I look forward to doing more business with them.

What is the operational and burst pressure rating of the BRLK-18-14, 1/8 x 1/4 compression fitting, PCJOB02818, 1806, Zone L, Brass?
No data available. It is dependent on the probe used in application.

what grade of brass do you use to manufacture MTA3-1/4-1/4-BR Model
This question will require addition effort so please send your request to temp@omega.com for follow up.

Is the OmegaLok adapter Item# SSLK-14-14, 1/4" all the way through or is there a stop?
Thank you for your inquiry. This compression fitting is designed to accept a 1/4" diameter probe with no stop and opening is all the way through for probe insertion into a process.

What is the thru hole diameter of the 1/8NPT to 6mm compression fitting? We are trying to use for a 5mm probe that has a 6mm collar for the fitting (need the 5mm diameter to go through the fitting). What is the rated pressure of the fitting?
The SSLK-M60-18 has an opening to accept a 6mm diameter tube. Omega cannot make a recommendation for any other diameter and does not place a pressure rating either.

What pressure will these compression fittings hold with a sheet type thermocouple
Omega does not put a pressure rating on these fittings because there are many variables like tube wall thickness and temperature. You would need to send the exact part numbers to temp@omega.com to review but certainly a few hundred PSI can be expected.
