Supported Applications
The Omega FL7000 Series consists of OEM-style acrylic variable area flow meters designed for water and air flow measurement. These instruments feature rod-guided floats (except where noted) and direct-reading scales to monitor fluid dynamics in process lines.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series covers a broad capacity envelope, measuring water flows from 6.5 GPH to 20 GPM and air flows from 2 SCFH to 62 SCFM. Full-scale accuracy varies by model family: FL7200 offers 6/2%, FL7300 provides 6/1%, FL7400 delivers 4/1%, FL7500 achieves 3/½%, and FL7600 reaches 2/½%. Operating limits are defined by media type; water ranges support up to 125 psig at 21°C (70°F) or 54°C (130°F) at 0 psig. Air ranges allow operation up to 100 psig at 21°C (70°F) or 38°C (100°F) at 0 psig.
Configuration Options
The FL7000 Series is available in five primary model configurations—FL7200, FL7300, FL7400, FL7500, and FL7600—each corresponding to specific scale lengths of 50 mm (1.97 inch), 75 mm (2.95 inch), 100 mm (3.94 inch), 127 mm (5.0 inch), and 250 mm (9.84 inch) respectively, with overall dimensions ranging from 121 mm (4.8 inch) to 346 mm (13.6 inch). Process connections include ¼ FNPT, ½ FNPT, ¾ FNPT, and 1 FNPT depending on the model.
Construction materials are standardized across the series with specific exceptions:
- Tube: Acrylic
- Float/Guide Rod: 316 SS (note: FL7211 through FL7215 air meters do not include a guide rod)
- End Fittings: PVC, except for the FL7200 series which uses brass
- O-rings: EPR
The series supports optional NIST traceability. Customers may add a suffix of “-NIST 5PT” for 5-point calibration or “-NIST 10PT” for 10-point calibration at an additional cost.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the FL7000 Series are distinguished by their designated media (water vs. air) and specific flow range, identified by unique model numbers such as FL7302 for water or FL7313 for air. The series includes 41 enabled variants covering discrete ranges from low-flow applications like 6.5 GPH to high-capacity flows up to 20 GPM.
Physical dimensions and connection sizes differ by model family; for example, the FL7200 utilizes a ¼ FNPT connection with an overall length of 121 mm (4.8 inch), while the larger FL7600 employs a ¾ FNPT connection and measures 346 mm (13.6 inch) in total length.
