Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series BBV-2 is a 5-valve block and bleed manifold designed for industrial applications including oil refineries, nuclear power stations, and petrochemical processing. The series controls compatible liquids, gases, or steam, specifically suited for control oil, water, toxic fluids, chemicals, air, and steam.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series BBV-2 body is forged from 316 stainless steel bar stock to withstand repeated open and close operations. The manifold operates within a temperature limit of 464°F (240°C) and supports a pressure rating of 6000 psi (400 bar). Wetted materials include the body, stem, and valve assembly in 316 SS with PTFE stem packing; handles are constructed from 304 SS. Each valve stem is precision machined with hard seats to reduce operating torque.

Configuration Options

The series offers a configurable envelope of five models (BBV-21, BBV-21F, BBV-22, BBV-22F, and BBV-23F) featuring two isolate valves, one equalizing valve, and two vent valves. Configuration options include:

  • Process Connections: 1/2" female NPT for non-flanged models; DIN 19213 flange for flanged variants.
  • Instrument Connections: 1/2" female NPT (non-flanged) or 1/2" DIN 19213 flange (flanged).
  • Vent/Test Ports: 1/4" female NPT.
  • Housing Styles: Side-mounted vent valves (BBV-21, BBV-21F) or top-mounted vent valves (BBV-22, BBV-22F, BBV-23F).

Flanged models are designed to mount to an industrial differential pressure transmitter. The BBV-21F and BBV-22F include four 7/16-20 UNF mounting bolts and two PTFE gaskets, while the double-flanged BBV-23F includes eight 7/16-20 UNF mounting bolts and two PTFE gaskets.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes models by vent valve orientation and flange configuration:

  • BBV-21: 5-valve manifold with side-mounted vent valves; process connection is 1/2" NPT(F).
  • BBV-21F: Flanged 5-valve manifold with side-mounted vent valves; instrument connection uses DIN 19213.
  • BBV-22: 5-valve manifold with top-mounted vent valves; process connections are 2 X 1/2" NPT.
  • BBV-22F: Flanged 5-valve manifold with top-mounted vent valves; instrument connection uses DIN 19213 and includes mounting holes (2X 0.268").
  • BBV-23F: Double flanged 5-valve manifold with top-mounted vent valves.
