Supported Applications

The Omega CL1500 Series is a portable, rugged bench-top dry block calibrator designed to test and calibrate temperature probes of various diameters. It functions as a hot/cold calibration source featuring a built-in precision PID digital controller for laboratory and field use.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The CL1500 Series operates within an ambient environmental range of 0 to 45°C (32 to 113°F) with humidity between 0 to 80% RH non-condensing. The unit provides a temperature calibration range of -5 to 125°C (23 to 257°F) at 23°C (73°F) Ambient.

Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±0.8°C (±1.5°F), stability of ±0.25°C (±0.45°F), and well-to-well uniformity of ±0.55°C (1°F). The display resolution is 0.1 degree, with a stabilization time of 5 min.

Heating times are documented as -5°C to Ambient: 1 min; Ambient to 100°C: 3 min; and 100 to 125°C: 5 min. Cooling times include 125 to 100°C: 1 min, 100 to 0°C: 8 min, and 0 to -5°C: 4 min.

Configuration Options

The series is available in two well styles: Standard (CL1500) with wells for 1/16, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 1/4, and 3/8" diameter probes; and Metric (CL1500M) with wells for 1.5, 2, 3, 4.5, 6, and 8 mm diameter probes. The calibration block features 6 holes to accommodate these varying diameters.

Power supply options include 90 to 240 Vac at 200 W. Specific models are configured for 115 Vac or 230 Vac operation. Each unit includes a power cord, operator's manual, RS232 cable (with an included RS232 to USB converter), software, and a NIST traceable calibration certificate.

The unit features a custom fabricated metal enclosure and an internal control sensor of Platinum RTD, 100 Ω, 0.00385, Class A.

Variants differ primarily by well style (Standard vs. Metric) and voltage configuration:

• CL1500: Hot/cold dry block calibrator with 1/16, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 1/4, and 3/8" diameter wells.
