Supported Applications
The Omega DP3002 series comprises 4½ digit thermocouple meters in a 1/8 DIN format, designed for indication-only applications. These process indicators accept Type J, K, or T thermocouple inputs and feature five-segment linearization to display temperature readings on a bright red LED display.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series provides measurement ranges specific to the selected thermocouple type and scale. Available input spans include -138 to 760°C, -216 to 1400°F for Type J; -105 to 1248°C, -157 to 1999°F for Type K; and -112 to 400°C, -170 to 752°F for Type T. Accuracy is specified as ±1.5°C (±2.7°F) ±5 cts or ±0.01% of reading/°C depending on the configuration.
Performance characteristics include a resolution of 0.1°C or 0.1°F, which is jumper-selectable. The full-scale step response time is 1 s. Units operate within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 60°C and can be stored between -40 to 85°C. Humidity tolerance is rated at 95% at 40°C (non-condensing).
Configuration Options
The DP3002 series offers configurable options for power supply, display color, and environmental protection.
- Power Supply: Standard models support 115/230 Vac (±15%, 49 to 440 Hz). Isolated DC options are available: 9 to 32 Vdc isolated to 300 Vp, or 26 to 56 Vdc isolated to 300 Vp.
- Display: Standard units feature a red LED display with 14 mm (0.56") digits; a green LED display is available as an option (-G).
- Housing & Protection: The enclosure utilizes 94V-0 UL-rated polycarbonate. An optional NEMA 4 (IP65) splash-proof lens cover provides additional protection.
- Outputs: A linearized recorder output is available, providing a voltage of 1 mV/deg with a maximum current of 1 mA max.
Physical dimensions for the bezel are 96 W x 48 H x 5.1 mm D (3.78 x 1.89 x 0.20"). The depth behind the bezel is 104 mm (4.09"), requiring a panel cutout of 92 W x 45 mm H (3.62 x 1.77"). Electrical connections are made via a screw-terminal barrier strip.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the DP3002 series differ by thermocouple type, temperature range, power input, and display color. Model numbers follow the format: DP3002 - <Thermocouple Type & Range> - <Power Option> - <Display Color>. For example, model DP3002-KC1 denotes a 4½ digit Type K thermocouple meter with 115 Vac power and an input range of -105 to 1248°C.
The series is RoHS 2 compliant. Note that not all combinations of options may be valid; specific part numbers should be verified against the manufacturer's ordering guide.
