Supported Applications
The Omega OTP Series consists of 3-Prong Standard Heavy Duty Connectors designed for use in 3-wire circuits. These connectors are recommended for shielded thermocouples, thermistors, and RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors). The series supports standard ANSI designations including Types J, K, T, and E, as well as Type N using OMEGALLOY® (generically known as Nicrosil-Nisil) and uncompensated Type U connectors used with Type B thermocouples.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The OTP Series features high-impact construction made of glass-filled nylon. The rated operating temperature range is -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). Minor discoloration of the connector may occur between 150°C (302°F) and 180°C (356°F), though electrical properties are not affected. The connectors accept stranded or solid wire up to Size 14 AWG.
Configuration Options
The series is supplied with shielded wire and copper connection pins, utilizing combination Phillips/Slot screws for termination. Connectors are color-coded according to ANSI standards:
- Type K: Yellow (CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA®)
- Type T: Blue (Copper-Constantan)
- Type J: Black (Iron-Constantan)
- Type E: Purple (CHROMEGA®-Constantan)
- Type U: White (Uncompensated, Copper-Copper)
- Type N: Orange (OMEGALLOY®, OMEGA-P®/OMEGA-N®)
Model numbers follow the format OTP-<Alloy Code>-<Gender>, where 'M' specifies a male connector and 'F' specifies a female connector. Optional accessories include Panel Adaptor Clips for Mounting 3-Pin Plugs and Sockets (Model TACL) and an optional PCLM cable clamp available specifically for the OTP-T-F female jack.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by thermocouple type, compensating alloy composition, shell color, and gender. The 'To Order' table defines specific model numbers such as OTP-K-M or OTP-U-F based on these parameters. Some variants include an "I" suffix (e.g., OTP-TI-M), indicating IEC compatibility where applicable in the ordering guide context.

Is an anti-oxidation compound such silver conductive grease or NOALOX permitted on the RTD connector pins? We are experiencing signal loss and errors.
