Supported Applications

The OSXL-TIM3-Series is a compact, fully automatic handheld thermal imaging camera that captures a thermal image and displays measured temperature on an on-board color LCD. Because it is focus-free and lightweight, it can be pointed at equipment and structures to visualize heat patterns quickly, then save images to a micro SD card and transfer them to the included software for report generation.

Typical inspection and diagnostic uses include:

  • Factory automation and process control monitoring.
  • Building and HVAC inspection.
  • Solar power generation equipment checks.
  • General electrical and mechanical fault-finding where surface heat signatures reveal problems.

Note: these products are not designed for use in, and should not be used for, human applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The camera measures infrared temperature across a range of −20 to 250 °C (−4 to 482 °F). Accuracy is ±2% of reading, or 2 °C (4 °F), whichever is greater, specified at a reference ambient of 26 °C (Tamb). Thermal sensitivity is 0.1 °C.

Core imaging and hardware characteristics include:

The series is supplied as a single configured model, so the capabilities described here define what the OSXL-TIM3 does rather than differences between separate hardware versions. Its configurable measurement behavior is set through the on-board menus and the desktop software:

  • Emissivity control: a default of 0.95 with matt, semi-matt, semi-glossy, and glossy presets, plus a user-set value adjustable from 0.1 to 1.
  • Alarm limits: selectable high alarm (HAL) and low alarm (LAL) thresholds.
  • Software processing: framestack integration to reduce noise, interpolation to simulate higher resolution from the 32 x 31 array, and eight selectable color schemes for the false-color display.
  • Output units: temperatures can be shown in Kelvin or degrees Celsius, with English or Chinese menus.

I have recently procured the OSXL-TIM3. The temeratures shown are not correct. Like -4 degreesC when tested on a mobile phone. Is it a calibration issue? The other thing is that it came without the software and I can't find the download file anywhere.

Have the OSXL-TIM3, Where can I download the software? It seems my desktop cannot read the SD card, is the software in the SD card?
