Supported Applications
The Omega AAV-1000C Series consists of air-operated bronze angle seat valves designed for industrial applications requiring a compact design. These pilot-operated, normally closed (NC) control valves are constructed to handle a wide range of fluids including steam, select liquids and gases, vacuum, water, compressed air, natural gas, oil, neutral fluids, and some aggressive fluids.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F) and a process temperature range of -10 to 180°C (14 to 360°F). The pilot media is limited to air, inert gases, or water with a maximum temperature of 60°C (140°F).
Performance specifications include:
- Maximum Pressure PSI (1->2/2->1): 230 psi for all models.
- Pilot Pressure Range PSI: 26 to 150 psi across the series.
- Minimum Operating Pressure: 0 psi.
- Flow Direction: 2 —> 1.
The required pilot pressure varies with operating pressure: at 0 psi operating pressure, the requirement is 30 psi; at 50 psi it is 60 psi; at 100 psi it is 90 psi; and for both 150 psi and 200 psi operating pressures, the required pilot pressure is 120 psi and 150 psi respectively. At an operating pressure of 250 psi, the chart indicates a requirement of 150 psi.
Configuration Options
The AAV-1000C Series offers three standard sizes with NPT process connections and bronze housing materials. Wetted parts include Bronze and PTFE seals as standard for maximum fluid compatibility. The valve stem features a self-aligning gland and floating seal to assure integrity.
- AAV-1015C: ½" NPT, 4.6 cV flow coefficient, actuator diameter 44 (1.75) mm (inch).
- AAV-1020C: ¾" NPT, 8.6 cV flow coefficient, actuator diameter 44 (1.75) mm (inch).
- AAV-1025C: 1" NPT, 19.3 cV flow coefficient, actuator diameter 44 (1.75) mm (inch).
To order units with BSPP threads, add the suffix “-BSPP” to the model number at no additional cost. The series comes complete with an operator's manual; pilot valves are sold separately.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between models in the AAV-1000C Series is the orifice size and corresponding flow coefficient (cV), which scales from 4.6 for the ½" model to 19.3 for the 1" model. While all three variants share identical pressure ratings, pilot pressure ranges, actuator diameters, and material construction, their physical dimensions vary by size.
Dimensional differences include overall width (A) ranging from 65 mm (2.56 in) to 90 mm (3.56 in), total height (C) varying between 136 mm (5.34 in) and 166 mm (6.53 in), and weight increasing from 0.68 kg (1.50 lb) for the AAV-1015C to 0.99 kg (2.20 lb) for the AAV-1025C.
The series carries CE and RoHS approvals and includes a 1 YEAR WARRANTY.
