Supported Applications
The Omega AAV-1100C Series comprises air-operated, normally closed (NC), pilot-operated angle seat valves constructed from Stainless Steel AISI 316L. Designed for compact industrial installations, the series is engineered to handle a wide range of fluids including steam, select liquids, and gases under vacuum conditions.
Documented media compatibility includes:
- Water
- Steam (pressure limited)
- Compressed Air
- Natural Gas
- Oil
- Vacuum
- Inert Gases
The valve stem features a self-aligning gland and floating seal to ensure integrity, with PTFE seals used as standard for fluid compatibility.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The AAV-1100C Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F) and a process temperature range of -10 to 180°C (14 to 360°F). The maximum operating pressure is rated at 230 psi; however, when handling steam, the maximum pressure is limited to 150 psig.
Flow direction for these valves is defined as 1 → 2. Pilot media requirements specify air or inert gases with a temperature limit of 60°C (140°F). The series supports pilot pressures ranging from 26 to 150 psi, with specific required pilot pressure values dependent on the operating line pressure:
- At 0 psi operating pressure: 30 psi pilot
- At 50 psi operating pressure: 60 psi pilot
- At 100 psi operating pressure: 90 psi pilot
- At 150 psi operating pressure: 120 psi pilot
- At 200 psi operating pressure: 150 psi pilot
Variants and Performance Metrics
The series includes two primary model variants with distinct orifice sizes, flow coefficients (cV), and dimensions:
- AAV-1115C: 1/2" NPT connection, 1/2" orifice, cV of 4.6.
- AAV-1120C: 3/4" NPT connection, 3/4" orifice, cV of 8.6.
Both models feature an actuator diameter of 44 mm (1.75 inch) and share the same pressure ratings and pilot pressure range.
Configuration Options
The AAV-1100C Series is available with NPT process connections in either 1/2" or 3/4" sizes, corresponding to the specific model variant. Wetted materials consist of 316L Stainless Steel and PTFE.
Configuration Options
- Thread Standards: Units with BSPP threads are available by adding the suffix “-BSPP” to the model number at no additional cost.
- Pilot Valve: The valve is supplied complete with an operator's manual; however, the pilot valve must be purchased separately.
Physical Dimensions and Weight
Dimensions vary by model to accommodate different orifice sizes. Overall height ranges from 123 mm (4.84 in) to 136 mm (5.34 in), while width spans from 65 mm (2.56 in) to 74 mm (2.93 in). Weights range from 1.2 kg (2.80 lb) for the AAV-1115C to 1.3 kg (3.00 lb) for the AAV-1120C.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between models in the AAV-1100C Series is the connection size and resulting flow capacity:
- AAV-1115C: Designed for 1/2" NPT applications with a cV of 4.6.
- AAV-1120C: Designed for 3/4" NPT applications with a higher flow capacity (cV 8.6).
Both models maintain identical pressure ratings, temperature limits, and actuator diameters. The series holds CE and RoHS certifications and includes a 1-year warranty.
