Supported Applications
The Omega PR-25AP series consists of air temperature RTD probes designed for accurate, fast responding temperature measurements in airstreams. The perforated sheath shields the sensing element from debris while allowing airflow to reach the sensor.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PR-25AP series measures process temperatures ranging from -100 to 250°C (-148 to 500°F). The probes are rated for a differential pressure of 400 psi (27.6 bar) between the airstream and ambient conditions. Accuracy is available in IEC Class A, with an accuracy value of ±0.15°C @ 0°C.
Performance Specifications
- Measurement Range: -100 to 250°C (-148 to 500°F)
- Accuracy Class: IEC Class A (±0.15°C @ 0°C); 1/3 DIN and 1/10 DIN options available
- Differential Pressure Rating: 400 psi (27.6 bar)
- Media Compatibility: Air
- Approvals/Certifications: RoHS
Configuration Options
The series supports a configurable envelope of probe lengths, mounting threads, and accuracy classes. The probes feature an M12, 4-Pin, A-Coded Plug Connector for electrical connection.
Housing and Materials
- Sheath Material: 316L Stainless Steel (perforated)
- Probe Diameter: 1/4" (0.25")
- Overall Lengths: Available from 6" to 18", with specific lengths including 2", 3", 4", 9", and others as defined by model number.
Mounting Options
The series is available with or without NPT mounting threads. Configurable thread sizes include:
- No thread (0)
- 1/4 NPT
- 3/8 NPT
- 1/2 NPT
Sensor and Accuracy Options
The standard configuration utilizes IEC Class A accuracy. Higher precision options are available by modifying the model number:
- 1/3 DIN Accuracy: Change "-A-" to "-1/3-" in the model number (additional cost).
- 1/10 DIN Accuracy: Change "-A-" to "-1/10-" in the model number (additional cost).
- Pt1000 Elements: A limited selection is available; consult sales.
Cabling and Wiring
The series uses an M12, 4-Pin, A-Coded Plug Connector. Optional extension cables are sold separately (e.g., M12CM-T24SSPC-SF-2, M12CM-T24SSPC-RF-2). For option 2 wiring standard, add "-2" to the end of the model number at no additional charge.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the PR-25AP series are distinguished by probe length (e.g., 0600 for 6", 1200 for 12"), mounting thread presence and size, and accuracy class. The model number guide follows the format: PR-25AP-<ACCURACY>-<PROBE_LENGTH>-<MOUNTING_THREAD>-M12. Examples include PR-25AP-A-0600-0-M12 for a 6" probe with no thread and IEC Class A accuracy, or PR-25AP-1/10-1200-1/2-M12 for a 12" probe with 1/2 NPT threads and 1/10 DIN accuracy.

Lacking quality control
Seem to be good sensors, when they work. 3 of 7 ordered were defective upon receipt. 1 of 3 replacement sensors were defective. So, in my experience expect ~33% failure rate as delivered, return shipping at your expense, and weeks of extra lead time for replacements.

What is the 50% response time for these sensors?
Thank you for your inquiry! 50% Response is the time the resistance thermometer element needs in order to reach 50% of its steady state value. 90% Response is defined in a similar manner. These response times of elements are given for water flowing with 0. 2 m/s velocity and air flowing at 1 m/s. For more information on RTD response time, please see this Technical Reference from our UK site: https://www.omega.co.uk/temperature/z/resistanceelements.html

Is your "1/10 DIN" RTD actually "1/10*Class B" across their full operating range or only at 0°C? For example, is their accuracy ±0.13°C at 200°C (1/10 of Class B, which is ±1.30°C) or something else? If something else, please provide a formula or table.
Thank you for your inquiry. This is the tolerance equation for it: 1⁄10 DIN = ±1⁄10* (0.3 + 0.005*t)°C or 100.00 ±0.03 Ω at 0ºC

Is this temperature probe submersible into liquids?
Thank you for your inquiry. This air probe is designed for measuring air only and cannot be submersed in liquids. We offer sealed probes that are designed for liquid submersion.

I know what a response time is and that they are determined either in water at 0. 2 m/s velocity and air flowing at 1 m/s. What is the response time for this sensor?
Thank you for your inquiry. Response Time would be less than 5 seconds.
