Supported Applications

The Omega PHP-800 Series consists of variable speed positive displacement diaphragm metering pumps designed to inject chemicals into piping systems. The series is documented for use in agricultural, waste water treatment (including municipal), plating and metal finishing, and HVAC cooling tower applications.

The pumps are engineered to operate against system pressures up to 12.1 bar (175 psi). A built-in Diaphragm Failure Detection (DFD) system shuts off the pump upon detecting a chemical leak in the pump head.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PHP-800 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 43°C (14 to 110°F). The maximum process fluid temperature is rated at 54°C (130°F).

  • Maximum Pressure: Varies by model; PHP-803 variants support up to 10.3 bar (150 psi), while PHP-804 variants support up to 5.5 bar (80 psi). The series maximum is documented as 12.1 bar (175 psi).
  • Maximum Output: Ranges from 74.6 LPH (19.7 GPH) for PHP-803 models to 159 LPH (42 GPH) for PHP-804 models at 0 psi.
  • Output at Max Pressure: PHP-803 variants deliver up to 42.6 LPH (11.3 GPH); PHP-804 variants deliver up to 131.4 LPH (34.7 GPH).
  • Strokes per Minute: All models operate at a maximum of 130 strokes/minute.
  • Viscosity Limit: Maximum viscosity is rated for fluids up to 1,000 Centipoise.

The enclosure meets NEMA 4X (IP66) ratings. The motor brush life is specified at 3400 hours.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable control types, process connections, and output signals to accommodate specific installation requirements.

Control Types

  • Local Control: Standard models feature an operator-friendly digital touch pad with a back-lit LCD display for local operation.
  • External Signal Control (ESC): Models designated with the "-ESC" suffix accept external control signals, including 4 to 20mA, 0 to 10 Vdc, AC sign waves TTL, and CMOS or contact inputs.

Process Connections & Fittings

The series supports three fitting types indicated by model suffixes:

  • BARB: Barbed fittings (standard on base models).
  • MNPT: Male National Pipe Thread.
  • FNPT: Female National Pipe Thread.

Outputs & Alarms

Depending on the configuration, available outputs include 4-20 mA, 0-10 VDC, Pulsed (Frequency Mode), Batch mode, and an Alarm Relay rated at 3 Amp. A Junction Box is optional for standard PHP-800 models but included as standard with ESC variants.

Wetted Materials

The pump head utilizes chemical-resistant materials including:

  • Pump Head & Adaptors: PVDF (natural color).
  • Diaphragm: PTFE or PTFE coated CSPE.
  • Injection/Check Valve Body and Insert: PVDF with a Ceramic check ball, Hastelloy® C-276 spring, and FKM (optional EP) O-rings.
  • Suction Tubing: Clear PVC.

Key Product Differences

The PHP-800 Series is differentiated by flow capacity, maximum pressure rating, fitting type, and control interface. The model number structure follows the pattern: Pump Type - Control Type - Fitting Type.

  • PHP-803 vs. PHP-804: The primary distinction is flow capacity and pressure rating. PHP-803 models provide a maximum output of 74.6 LPH (19.7 GPH) at 0 psi with a maximum pressure capability of 10.3 bar (150 psi). PHP-804 models offer higher volume delivery up to 159 LPH (42 GPH) at 0 psi but are rated for lower pressures, maxing out at 5.5 bar (80 psi).
  • Fitting Suffixes: Models without a suffix use BARB fittings; models with an "M" suffix utilize MNPT connections; models with an "F" suffix utilize FNPT connections.
  • -ESC Suffix: Indicates the unit is configured for External Signal Control, enabling remote operation via analog or digital inputs. Standard units without this suffix are designed for local control only.
