Supported Applications

The Omega WT-3200 is a research quality open loop wind tunnel designed for thermal and air flow testing of multiple printed circuit boards (PCBs). The unit supports component temperature testing, heat sink characterization, sensor calibration, and smoke flow visualization within its clear polycarbonate test section.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The WT-3200 delivers a flow range from 0 to 10 m/s (0 to 2000 ft/min) with a documented flow uniformity of ±1%. The system requires a customer-provided power supply rated at 24 Vdc at 4.3 Amps; voltage applied to the fans must not exceed 24 Volts-DC. The test section measures 60.9 L x 46.9 W x 7.6 cm D (24 in x 18.5 in x 3 in) and is designed with a wall-to-wall spacing of 3" (7.5 cm) to accommodate three PCBs.

Configuration Options

The series features a quick access chamber equipped with 6 sensor ports for measuring pressure, velocity, and temperature. The unit includes rail guides for position adjustment and is mounted on castors for mobility. It can operate in either vertical or horizontal orientations. A switch box allows individual control of the four fans to adjust flow rates. Optional accessories include:

• TVS-1000 series temperature/velocity profile packages (sold separately)

The unit can be fitted with different fan trays to accommodate a broad air flow range within its specified limits. A laptop is not included with the system, and sensors for measuring flow parameters are available as optional accessories.
