Supported Applications
The Omega LC304/LCM304 Series consists of miniature button compression load cells designed for high-output performance in compact spaces. These sensors feature a rugged stainless steel case with a built-in load button, facilitating installation by mounting directly into pockets or on flat surfaces.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -54 to 107°C (-65 to 225°F), with thermal compensation specified for 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Accuracy is rated at ±0.5% FSO linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability combined. Thermal effects are documented as 0.009% FSO/°C for zero balance and 0.036% FSO/°C for span.
Electrical specifications include a nominal output of 2 mV/V with an excitation voltage of 10 Vdc (maximum 15 Vdc). The bridge resistance is 350 Ω minimum, and the zero balance is ±2% FSO. Mechanical limits define safe overload at 150% of capacity and ultimate overload at 300% of capacity.
Configuration Options
The LC304 series offers a broad measurement envelope available in both standard (lb) and metric (N) configurations. The physical design is consistent across the line, featuring a 25.4 mm (1.00") diameter by 25.4 mm (1.00") high case with an IP65 protection class.
Key configurable parameters include:
- Capacity Ranges: Standard models range from 0-100 lb to 0-10,000 lb; metric models range from 0-500 N to 0-50,000 N.
- Housing and Materials: Stainless steel construction with a spherical radius of 3.0 mm (0.12").
- Cabling: Includes a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor cable with a diameter of 9.7 mm (0.38"). Wiring code is GREEN: +OUT, WHITE: -OUT, RED: +IN, BLACK: -IN.
- Calibration: Each unit includes 5-point NIST-traceable calibration and 59 kΩ shunt data.
Key Product Differences
The series is divided into two model families based on the capacity units provided. Standard models use the prefix LC304 followed by a numeric suffix indicating pounds (e.g., LC304-1K for 1,000 lb). Metric models utilize the LCM304 prefix with Newton ratings (e.g., LCM304-5KN for 5,000 N).
Specific capacity options include:
- Standard Models: LC304-100 through LC304-10K covering capacities from 100 lb to 10,000 lb.
- Metric Models: LCM304-500N through LCM304-50KN covering capacities from 500 N to 50,000 N.

Is the output signal linear enough to use a multimeter to measure voltage and convert manually to load?
Hello, The output should be linear across the range. Initially you will have to measure the mV output at no load and full load to plot your slope. Once you have your slope you will be able to compute load vs mV outputs.

Hi.. What is the input impedance, output impedance and insulation resistance of LC 304-100 load cell?
Hello, Resistance will indicate much voltage is required to produce a current. Impedance generally extends the concept of resistance to changing voltages. In addition to telling you just how much current is produced; it also indicates how much the current lags behind the voltage. In short, it gives both amplitude and phase relationship between voltage and current. So I believe you are looking for the input and output resistance: in case of the LC304 nominal input and output bridge resistance will be 350 ohms. The insulation resistance is not listed, please email us your application at pressure@omega.com, we will review and advise if this product will be viable for your needs.

is this a full, half, or quarter bridge device?
This is a full bridge device

What is the sensitivity of this device?
Nominal sensitivity of the LC304 Series is 2mV/V which would give you a 0 to 20 mV output signal across the calibrated range of the load cell with the 10VDC excitation supplied.

Is this model compatible with NI and LabView?
This load cell is simply a strain gage bridge device the produces a linear millvolt output over the load range of the cell. NI and Labview should have devices the accept this type of signal. NI for sure has devices the will both power the load cell and read the signal output
