Supported Applications
The Omega CT6100 Series consists of microprocessor-based circular chart recorders designed to continuously monitor and provide a permanent trace of process variables. These hybrid paper recorders accept industry standard sensor inputs including Thermocouples (Types J, K, T, E, N, R, S, B), RTDs (Pt100), DC Voltage (±2V), and DC Current (±20 mA). The series is configured for applications requiring the monitoring of temperature, pressure, flow, or level via these standard transducers.
Key functional capabilities include:
- Continuous recording on rotating, removable circular charts
- Simultaneous digital display and analog charting for up to three channels
- Process control support with independently configurable relays (up to 6)
- User-configurable front-panel keypad with menu-driven interface
Operating Conditions & Performance
The CT6100 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 55°C (32 to 131°F) and a humidity rating of 0 to 90% RH (non-condensing). The enclosure is constructed from steel with a glass-filled polyester resin door featuring an acrylic window, rated NEMA 12 (IP55).
Performance specifications vary by input type:
- Accuracy: RTD Low Range (-200 to 200°C) is ±0.2°C; RTD High Range (200 to 850°C) is ±0.8°C. Thermocouple accuracy is ±0.25% full scale, and Voltage/Current inputs are ±0.2% full scale.
- Resolution: 0.1°C for temperature inputs; software programmable for voltage/current inputs.
- Response Time: Zero to full scale in 4.5 seconds.
- Hysteresis: Configurable from 0.0 to 10% span.
The recorder utilizes microprocessor control with automatic cold-junction compensation, optoelectronic isolation, and 16-bit A/D converters. Power is supplied via mains (115 or 230 Vac ±10%, 50/60 Hz) connected through a terminal block.
Configuration Options
The series offers modular construction with configurable pen counts, relay configurations, and optional outputs. Models are available in 1-, 2-, or 3-pen versions to match channel requirements.
- Pen Count & Relays: CT6101 (1-pen) includes 3 relays; CT6102 (2-pen) and CT6103 (3-pen) include 6 relays. All standard models include a transmitter power supply.
- Analog Output Option: The -PV suffix adds an analog output of 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA, assignable to any channel. This option is not field installable and must be ordered at the time of purchase.
- Housing & Display: Features a large-character alphanumeric LCD with backlight and simultaneous digital display for each channel. The steel case includes a gasket-lockable door for security.
Accessories include replacement pens (Red, Green, Blue packs of 3), chart paper options (100 charts for 24 hours or 31 days), and power cords with one end stripped. The unit weight ranges from 7 kg (15.4 lb) for the single-pen model to 7.7 kg (17.0 lb) for the three-pen model.
Key Product Differences
The CT6100 Series is differentiated by channel capacity and relay count, as defined in the ordering guide:
- CT6101: 1-pen recorder with 3 relays and transmitter power supply.
- CT6102: 2-pen recorder with 6 relays and transmitter power supply.
- CT6103: 3-pen recorder with 6 relays and transmitter power supply.
Variants with the -PV suffix (e.g., CT6101-PV, CT6102-PV, CT6103-PV) include the additional analog output capability. The series supports CE certification compliance. Note that these products are not designed for use in human applications.
