Supported Applications

The Omega LCFL/LCMFL series comprises subminiature inline load cells designed for precision industrial applications requiring highly accurate readings. These tension link load cells measure either tension or compression loads and feature male thread studs for direct load attachment.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -53 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F) with an IP54 enclosure rating. Measurement ranges span from 0-2.2 lb (10 N) up to 0-100 lb (500 N). Performance specifications include a non-linearity of ±0.50% FSO, hysteresis of ±0.50% FSO, and repeatability of ±0.20% FSO.

Electrical Specifications

  • Excitation Voltage: 5 Vdc for capacities ≤10 lb/50 N; 10 Vdc for ≥25 lb/100 N.
  • Output Signal (Sensitivity): 1 mV/V (nom.) for 2.2 lb/10 N capacity; 2 mV/V (nom.) for capacities ≥5 lb/20 N.
  • Load Resistance: 350 Ω minimum.
  • Cable Connection: 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor, shielded PTFE cable with compensation board.

Configuration Options

The LCFL/LCMFL series is constructed from stainless steel and available in two primary diameters: 19 mm (0.75") for lower capacities and 25.4 mm (1") for higher capacities. The exclusive internal design provides superior long-term stability and minimizes the effects of small off-axis loads.

Process Connections & Accessories

The load cells feature male thread studs compatible with specific female rod end accessories:

  • LCPF ≤10 lb models: Compatible with REC-006F (6-32 UNC female rod end).
  • LCFL ≥25 lb models: Compatible with REC-010F (10-32 UNF female rod end).
  • LCMFL ≥100 N models: Compatible with MREC-M6F (M6 x 1.00 female rod end).

Certifications & Calibration

The series carries RoHS compliance and includes a complete 5-point NIST-traceable calibration along with 59 kΩ shunt data.

Key Product Differences

Variants are distinguished by capacity, unit system (lb or N), and physical dimensions. The LCFL model numbers correspond to pound capacities ranging from 1KG/2.2 lb up to 100 lb. The LCMFL model numbers correspond to Newton capacities ranging from 10N up to 500N.

Dimensional Differences by Capacity

  • Capacities 10 to 50 N (2.2 to 10 lb): Diameter A is 19.1 mm (0.75"); Length B is 10.1 mm (0.40).
  • Capacities 100 to 500 N (25 to 100 lb): Diameter A is 25.4 mm (1.00); Length B is 9.9 mm (0.39).

Can the load be applied to the flat surfaces on both sides normal to the stud? Or does t need to go through the stud by itself?
