Supported Applications
The ACI Platinum Copper Averaging Series is a multi-point temperature sensor designed for use with electronic controllers in commercial heating and cooling building management systems. The series provides an average temperature reading of the air inside ducts, offering improved accuracy compared to single-point sensors by utilizing a continuous sensing element that covers the entire length of the copper tube.

Operating Conditions & Performance
The series utilizes a Platinum RTD sensor with a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) curve and a temperature coefficient of 3850 ppm / °C. The sensing element is hermetically sealed to protect against moisture and vibration.

Ambient operating temperature limits vary by enclosure type: Galvanized (GD) and Bell Box (BB) enclosures support -40 to 115°C (-40 to 239°F); Plastic Box (PB) supports -30 to 90°C (-22 to 194°F); NEMA 4X (4X) supports -40 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F).

Enclosure variations define the environmental protection level: Galvanized (GD) and Plastic Box (PB) provide NEMA 1 ratings, while Bell Box (BB) offers NEMA 3R weatherproofing. The -4X enclosure provides NEMA 4X (IP 66) rating for harsher environments but has a lower maximum ambient operating temperature limit (-40 to 70°C).
Model numbers follow the format: A/1K-[2W or 3W]-A-[Length]'-[Enclosure]-(NIST). For example, A/1K-2W-A-8'-GD denotes a two-wire sensor with an 8-foot length and Galvanized enclosure.
