Supported Applications

The Omega TQ300/TQM300 Series comprises flange-to-flange mount reaction torque sensors designed for industrial environments. These devices feature stainless steel construction and heavy-duty mounting to ensure a non-slip connection during operation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers an accuracy class of ±0.2% FSO, with linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability combined at ±0.2% FSO. Zero balance is specified as ±2% FSO. The sensors operate within a temperature range of -54 to 107°C (-65 to 225°F), while the compensated temperature range spans 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects are rated at ±0.005% FSO/°F for zero and ±0.005% rdg/°F for span.

Electrical specifications include an output of 2 mV/V with a recommended excitation voltage of 10 Vdc (maximum 15V). Input resistance is 360 Ω minimum, and output resistance is 350 ±5 Ω. The series supports safe overload up to 150% of capacity and ultimate overload up to 300% of capacity.

Configuration Options

The TQ300/TQM300 Series offers multiple measurement ranges, including:

  • 0 to 400 in-lb (Model TQ301-400)
  • 0 to 2000 in-lb (Model TQ302-2K)
  • 0 to 45 N-m (Model TQM301-45N)

Housing and mounting configurations vary by model:

  • TQ301 / TQM301: Overall diameter of 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) with a typical length of 63.5 mm (2.5). The bolt circle is 50.8 mm (2.00 DIA.) on both ends, featuring four through holes with a 6.5 mm (0.256 DIA.) diameter.
  • TQ302-2K: Overall diameter of 108 mm (4.25 inch) and length of 119 mm (4.69). This model includes eight holes equally spaced on a 3 5/8 B.C., with a TAP 3/8-24 connection at each end.

Electrical connections differ by series:

  • TQ301 models: Include a 1.2 m (4') 4-conductor, shielded, color-coded PVC cable.
  • TQ302-2K model: Utilizes a PTIH-10-6P connection; the mating connector PT06F10-6S is sold separately.

The series carries NIST Standard and RoHS certifications. Each unit comes complete with 5-point calibration.

Differences within the TQ300/TQM300 Series are defined by measurement range, physical dimensions, and electrical interface:

  • TQ301-400 / TQM301-45N: Compact flange-to-flange units with a 63.5 mm (2.5) diameter body and integrated shielded cable.
  • TQ302-2K: Larger unit designed for higher torque ranges, featuring an increased diameter of 108 mm (4.25), threaded process connections (TAP 3/8-24), and a PTIH-10-6P connector interface.
