Supported Applications
The Omega CLH1740 is a pocket-sized ISE (Ion Selective Electrode) meter designed for measuring chlorine directly in parts per million. The series follows the EPA Protocol for ISE Methods and supports interchangeable flat surface sensor modules to measure Total Chlorine, pH, ORP, or sample temperature.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The CLH1740 operates within an ambient range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) and humidity levels below <80% RH. Measurement capabilities include:
- Total Chlorine Range: 0.01 to 10.00 ppm
- Chlorine Accuracy: ± (10% of reading + 0.01 ppm) from 0.05 to 10.00 ppm
- Temperature Range: -5 to 90°C (23 to 194°F)
- Temperature Accuracy: ± 1°C (1.8°F) from -5 to 50°C (23 to 122°F); ± 3°C (±5.4°F) from 50 to 90°C (122 to 194°F)

The device features a multifunction display with bar graph, memory storage for up to 15 readings, low battery indication ("BAT"), and automatic power-off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Configuration Options
The CLH-1740 series utilizes a matte finish waterproof design powered by four 1.55V PH-BATT-3 button batteries (included). The system supports interchangeable sensor modules to adapt the measurement function:
- CLE-1732: Chlorine module, range 0.01 to 10.00 ppm
- PHE-1733: pH module
- ORE-1742: ORP module
The standard CLH-1740 kit includes 100 reagent tablets, the CLE-1732 chlorine module, a tablet crusher, one sample cup with cap, and batteries. Optional accessories include the CLH-1746 weighted stand with 5 sample cups, CLH-7044J chlorine reagent refill pack (100 tablets), CLH-7045 24-pack of sample cups, and PH-BATT-3 replacement batteries.
