Supported Applications
The Omega RD5100 series is a universal-input hybrid chart recorder with a 250 mm (10") recording width, combining multi-color analog trace printing with digital recording and logging. Universal inputs accept DC voltage, a wide selection of thermocouples, and RTDs, so one recorder can capture many industrial process values simultaneously with individually selectable ranges.
With high-speed scanning of 36 points/sec, high accuracy, a USB engineering port, and built-in communication interfaces, the series suits process monitoring, plant data acquisition, and quality records where both a permanent paper chart and networked data are needed. Simple operational keys and interactive setup make it approachable for instrumentation, installation, and maintenance staff.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Measurement accuracy is ±0.05% of reading ±1 digit for DC voltage and most thermocouple and RTD inputs, and the scan rate is 0.1 sec/channel. Display resolution reaches 0.1 °C (32 °F) for temperature and 1 µV for the finest voltage range.
DC voltage inputs span from -10.0 to 10.0 mV up to -10.0 to 10.0V, while thermocouple ranges are broad, for example -200 to 500 °C (-328 to 932 °F), -200 to 900 °C (-328 to 1652 °F), and -200 to 1370 °C (-328 to 2498 °F). RTD inputs support Pt100 and JP100 elements.

Configuration Options
All RD5100 models share the 250 mm (10") chart width, universal inputs, 10-color analog dot printing, and digital logging. Models differ by measurement point count, the number of alarm outputs, and whether a communication interface is fitted.
Point Count
The base models provide 12 points on the RD5110, 24 points on the RD5120, and 36 points on the RD5130, letting the same recorder scale from a handful of channels up to dense multi-channel logging.
Alarm Options
Higher-numbered models in each group add alarm outputs; for example the RD5111 adds 12 alarms and the RD5112 adds 24 alarms to a 12-point recorder, using mechanical relay outputs.
Communication Interface
Models carrying the COMM suffix include the communication interface, adding RS422A or RS485 plus Ethernet, which is also required for chart-end and fail relay outputs.
Key Product Differences
A model number is built from the RD5100 base with digits that set the point count, alarm count, and communication option. The 12-point group runs RD5110, RD5111, and RD5112; the 24-point group runs RD5120, RD5121, and RD5122; and the 36-point group runs RD5130, RD5131, RD5132, and RD5133.
