Supported Applications

The Omega FTB4000-Series consists of turbine flow meters designed for water totalization, specifically targeting water billing applications. These instruments feature tamper-resistant, non-resettable totalizers with large faces intended to be easy to read.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series measures hot or cold water within a maximum process temperature of 90°C (200°F) and a pressure rating of 150 psi. Accuracy is specified as ±1.5% of reading from 10% of continuous flow to maximum flow, and ±2% of reading below 10% of continuous flow.

Flow rates across the series range from 0.13 GPM (minimum) up to 132 GPM (maximum). Installation requirements mandate 10 pipe diameters upstream and 5 downstream. Mounting orientation is size-dependent: horizontal mounting is required for 1, 1¼, and 1½" models, while vertical mounting applies only to ½ and ¾" sizes.

Configuration Options

The FTB4000-Series offers configurable options including built-in strainers, trickle flow indication, locking nuts, and coupling pieces. Models are available with or without a reed relay scaled pulse output for remote totalization; the pulse output option is factory installed and must be requested at order time.

Key configuration parameters include:

  • Pulse Output Option (Suffix 'P'): Provides 1 gal/pulse with 1.8 m (6') of cable included, powered by a 6 to 16 Vdc supply.
  • Totalizer Capacity: Maximum reading is 10 million gallons for ½ and ¾" models; 100 million gallons for 1, 1¼, and 1½" models.
  • Process Connections: MNPT connections are provided for ½ to 1½" models. The 2" model utilizes an ANSI 150# Flange connection.

Wetted parts consist of a brass body, stainless steel polyimide (fiberglass), polypropylene, and EPDM O-rings. All units carry CE approval and include a complete operator's manual with a 1 YEAR WARRANTY.

Key Product Differences

The series is distinguished by size-specific flow ranges and connection types:

  • ½" Models (FTB-4105A): Flow range of 0.13 to 13 GPM with MNPT connections.
  • ¾" Models (FTB-4107A): Flow range of 0.22 to 20 GPM with MNPT connections.
  • 1" and 1¼" Models (FTB-4110A, FTB-4112A): Both sizes share a flow range of 0.5 to 50.0 GPM with respective MNPT connections.
  • 1½" Model (FTB-4115A): Flow range of 0.8 to 90.0 GPM with MNPT connection.
  • 2" Model (FTB-4120A): Flow range of 1.3 to 132.0 GPM with ANSI 150# Flange connection and a maximum temperature rating of 90°C (194°F).
