Supported Applications
The ACI Thermistor Wall Plate Series consists of single-point temperature sensors designed for use with electronic controllers in commercial heating and cooling building management systems. These wall-mounted devices monitor ambient air temperatures within a space, featuring double encapsulation to eliminate moisture effects on the sensor element.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates across an ambient and storage temperature range of -40 to 71 °C (-40 to 160 °F) with humidity ratings from 10 to 95% RH, non-condensing. The nominal response time is 15 seconds (63% step change). Accuracy varies by sensor type: the A/1.8K Series offers +/- 0.5 °C @ 25 °C (77 °F) and (+/-1.0°C) (+/-1.8°F); the A/10K-E1 Series provides +/- 0.3°C (+/-0.54°F); all other thermistor series deliver +/-0.2°C (+/-0.36°F). Platinum (A/100, A/1K), BALCO, and NICKEL sensor options are also available with specific accuracy profiles defined by temperature point.
Configuration Options
The Therm-Wall-Plate series supports multiple configurations for housing material, sensor output curves, and special ordering features. Key configurable dimensions include:
- Housing Material: SP Series (430 Stainless Steel with Brushed Satin Finish) or AP Series (Aluminum with Smooth Satin Finish, Clear Anodized).
- Sensor Output @ 25 °C (77 °F): Options include A/1.8K (1.8 KΩ), A/3K (3 KΩ), A/AN Type III (10 KΩ), A/AN-BC (5.238 KΩ), A/CP Type II (10 KΩ), A/CSI (10 KΩ), A/10KS (10 KΩ), A/10K-E1 (10 KΩ), A/20K (20 KΩ), A/50K (50 KΩ), and A/100KS (100 KΩ). Platinum, BALCO, and NICKEL elements are available with nominal resistances of 100 Ω or 1 KΩ.
- Electrical Connection: Two non-polarity sensitive lead wires, 14 inches long, 22 AWG Etched Teflon (PTFE) colored leads rated MIL-W-16878/4 (Type E).
- Override Options: Custom ordering supports an Override Short Sensor option.
- Certification: NIST Certificate (3 Points) is available as a custom selection.
The series includes a 1/8" foam pad made of Cross-Linked Polyethylene with FMVSS-302 flammability rating to insulate the sensor from thermal drafts within the wall. Agency approvals include CE, RoHS, WEEE, and UKCA.

Variants are distinguished by housing material (SP for Stainless Steel, AP for Aluminum) and specific thermistor curve codes embedded in the model number (e.g., A/1.8K-SP vs. A/3K-AP). The SP Series weighs 0.14 lbs. (63.5g), while the AP Series weighs 0.08 lbs. (36.29g).
