TRP-K-Series

Supported Applications

The Omega TRP-K Series consists of Temperature Reference Probes designed to create a stable transition reference junction for accurate thermocouple calibration. These probes are typically used with OMEGA's TRCIII-A ice point calibration chamber and support all standard thermocouple calibrations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series meets or exceeds Special Limit of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1 accuracy requirements. The probes feature a sheath constructed from 304 Stainless Steel with an overall length of 300 mm (12 inch), a stem length of 140 mm (5⅜ inch), and a diameter of 3 (⅛) mm (inch).

Configuration Options

The TRP-K Series is available in multiple thermocouple types to match specific calibration needs. The series supports the following material combinations:

• Type K: CHROMEGA® and ALOMEGA® (Model: TRP-K)
• Type N: OMEGA-P® and OMEGA-N® (Model: TRP-N)
• Type T: Copper and Constantan (Model: TRP-T)
• Type E: CHROMEGA® and Constantan (Model: TRP-E)
• Type J: Iron and Constantan (Model: TRP-J)
• Type S: Platinum 10% Rh and Platinum (Model: TRP-St)
• Type R: Platinum 13% Rh and Platinum (Model: TRP-R)
• Type B: Platinum 30% Rh and Pt 6% Rh (Model: TRP-B)
• Type C: W 5% Re and W 26% Re (Model: TRP-C)
• Type D: W 3% Re and W 25% Re (Model: TRP-D)

Each probe includes standard size connectors with mating connectors and locking clips. Color-coded copper-copper connectors and thermocouple connectors are supplied.

Key Product Differences

Variants differ primarily by lead length suffixes added to the base model number (TRP-<Thermocouple Type>). Standard 12-inch leads are included for most models; additional lengths of 600 mm (24") or 900 mm (36") are available with specific ordering codes. For example, adding "-24" or "-36" to the model number provides longer leads at an additional cost.

For Type R and B models, as well as Types C and D, the standard length is 6 inches; each additional 6-inch increment incurs a separate charge. Specific ordering examples include TRP-J-24 for a Type J probe with 24-inch leads and TRP-R-12 for a Type R probe.
