Supported Applications
The Omega XRU1D Series Standard Terminal Block Relays are plug-in, DIN rail mount relays designed for automation systems requiring high switching capacity and long electrical service life. These units feature screw connections and LED status indication to support modular system wiring in industrial control environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F) with a rated operating mode of 100% duty factor. Electrical performance is defined by specific coil voltages: XRU1D24 accepts 24 Vdc; XRU1D24U accepts 24 Vac/Vdc; and XRU1D120U accepts 120 Vac/110 Vdc. Typical response times are 5 mS for the XRU1D24 model, and 6 mS for both XRU1D24U and XRU1D120U models. Release times are documented as 8 mS (XRU1D24) and 15 mS (XRU1D24U and XRU1D120U).
Switching capabilities include a maximum switching voltage of 250 Vac/Vdc, with a minimum switching voltage of 12 Vac/Vdc. The limiting continuous current is rated at 6 A, while the minimum switching power requirement is 120 mW (minimum switching current: 10 mA). Contacts are specified as 1 PDT type constructed from AgSnO material.
Physical dimensions for the relay unit are a width of 6.2 mm (0.24 in), height of 94 mm (3.70 in), and depth of 80 mm (3.15 in). The enclosure rating is NEMA 6 (IP67), and the housing material meets Inflammability Class V0 per UL 94 standards.
Configuration Options
The XRU1D series supports three primary coil voltage configurations, each with distinct input current characteristics:
- XRU1D24: 24 Vdc coil; typical input current of 9 mA. Input protection includes a polarity protection diode and free-wheeling diode.
- XRU1D24U: 24 Vac/Vdc coil; typical input current is 11 mA (24 Vac) or 8.5 mA (24 Vdc). Input protection utilizes a bridge rectifier.
- XRU1D120U: 120 Vac/110 Vdc coil; typical input current is 3.5 mA (120 Vac) or 3 mA (110 Vdc). Input protection utilizes a bridge rectifier.
The series supports screw connections for both rigid solid and flexible stranded wire, accommodating AWG sizes from 26 to 14 (0.14 to 2.5 mm²).
Accessories and Options
- Power Terminal Block (XRAPLCESK): Nominal current of 32 A, used to feed bridging potentials.
- End Cover (XRAATPBK): Required at the start and stop of a relay strip; provides visual separation for relay groups and isolates relays with voltages greater than 250V.
- Bridges (XRAFBST series): Colored, insulated plug-in bridges available in red, blue, and gray. Options include the 2-position bridge (e.g., XRAFBST2) and 80-position bridge (e.g., XRAFBST500), designed to reduce wiring time by up to 70%.
- Replacement Relays: The series offers replacement units including the XRR1D120U for the XRU1D120U model, and the XRR1D24 for both XRU1D24 and XRU1D24U models.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction among series members is the coil voltage input type. The XRU1D24 model operates exclusively on 24 Vdc, whereas the XRU1D24U and XRU1D120U models support universal or higher AC/DC inputs (24 Vac/Vdc and 120 Vac/110 Vdc respectively). These voltage differences dictate specific input protection circuits: DC-only units utilize polarity protection diodes, while universal/high-voltage units employ bridge rectifiers. Mechanical service life is rated at 2 x 10⁷ cycles across the series.
