Supported Applications
The Omega SSRDIN series comprises single- and three-phase DIN rail mount solid state relays designed for harsh industrial environments. These units are engineered to replace mercury relays in applications including food-service equipment, sterilizers, temperature control systems, plastic extrusion, HVAC, packaging machinery, sorting systems, lighting controls, pump controls, incubators, motor-switching, and UPS systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The SSRDIN series operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 80°C (-4 to 176°F) with a storage temperature capability from -40 to 100 °C (-40 to 212°F). The relays feature an IP20 touch-safe housing constructed from UL 94V-0 self-extinguishing material. Key performance characteristics include zero-voltage switching, 4000 Vac optical isolation between input and output circuits, and a DBC substrate for thermal management without epoxy.
Input specifications vary by model but generally support AC or DC control signals with dropout voltages of 1 Vdc (for DC inputs) or 10 Vac (for AC inputs). Turn-on times range from 8.33 ms to 20 ms depending on the input voltage and phase configuration, while turn-off times are specified at 8.33 ms for single-phase models and up to 30 ms for others.
Configuration Options
The series offers a configurable envelope across three physical sizes: 22.5 mm (single-phase), 45 mm (higher current single-phase), and 91 mm (three-phase). Models are available with AC or DC input types to match control signal requirements.
- Current Ratings: Single-phase models offer ratings of 10 A, 20 A, 30 A, 35 A, and 45 A. Three-phase models provide a 25 A rating.
- Voltage Ranges: Output voltage ranges include 24 to 280 Vac for lower-voltage single-phase units and 48 to 600 Vac for higher-capacity single- and three-phase relays.
- Output Types: The series utilizes Triac output technology for the SSRDIN280 models (10 A) and SCR output technology for the SSRDIN600 and SSR3PH600 families.
- Mounting Options: Units are designed to mount on a DIN rail or via panel mounting. The 90 mm three-phase units weigh approximately 600 g (1.3 lb).
Electrical connections utilize screw terminals with specific torque requirements: L1, L2, L3, T1, T2, and T3 terminals accept wire sizes up to 10 AWG or 8 AWG depending on the model size, tightened to torques between 1.02 N·m (9 in.lbs) and 1.70 N·m (15 in.lbs). Control input terminals A1/A2 accommodate wires from 24/16 AWG up to 8 AWG with torque specifications of 0.6 N·m (5.31 in.lbs).
Key Product Differences
The SSRDIN series is differentiated by phase count, current capacity, and input signal type.
- SSRDIN280 Series: Single-phase relays with 10 A ratings operating at output voltages of 24 to 280 Vac. These models use Triac outputs and are available in AC (AC10) or DC (DC10) input configurations within a 22.5 mm housing.
- SSRDIN600 Series: Single-phase relays with current ratings of 20 A, 30 A, 35 A, and 45 A operating at output voltages of 48 to 600 Vac. These models utilize SCR outputs. The 20 A and 30 A variants fit in a 22.5 mm housing, while the 35 A and 45 A variants require a wider 45 mm housing.
- SSR3PH600 Series: Three-phase relays with a 25 A rating operating at output voltages of 48 to 600 Vac. These units use SCR outputs and are housed in a larger 91 mm (approx. 90 mm nominal) enclosure.
All models include an LED input status indicator and integral heat sinks. The series holds UL and CSA approvals with a one-year warranty.
