Supported Applications
The Omega TQ402 series comprises shaft-to-shaft key mount reaction torque sensors designed for industrial environments requiring long-term reliability. These heavy-duty cells provide a positive, non-slip connection via their shaft key mounting configuration.
Operating Conditions & Performance
TQ402 sensors operate within an ambient temperature range of -54 to 107°C (-65 to 225°F), with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). The series delivers high accuracy performance characterized by the following specifications:

Configuration Options
The TQ402 series is available in six measurement ranges from 0 to 12,000 in-lb. Model numbers correspond directly to the capacity range (e.g., TQ402-600 for 0–600 in-lb). The series supports two distinct dimensional configurations based on capacity:
- 600 to 2,000 in-lb ranges: Overall length L of 8.00 inches (2.03 mm), with a shaft key width W of 1/4 inch.
- 3,000 to 12,000 in-lb ranges: Overall length L of 11.00 inches (279 mm), with a shaft key width W of 3/8 inch.
Electrical specifications include an output signal of 2 mV/V and excitation voltage requirements of 10 Vdc, up to a maximum of 15V. The input resistance is 360 Ω minimum, with an output resistance of 350 ±5 Ω.
Key Product Differences
The series includes specific model variations for each capacity step: TQ402-600 (0–600 in-lb), TQ402-1.2K (0–1,200 in-lb), TQ402-2K (0–2,000 in-lb), TQ402-3K (0–3,000 in-lb), TQ402-6K (0–6,000 in-lb), and TQ402-12K (0–12,000 in-lb). Each unit comes complete with a 5-point calibration. The electrical connection utilizes an MS3102A-14S-6P connector or equivalent; the mating connector model number is MS3106E-14S-6S and is sold separately.
Additional capabilities include NIST Standard compliance, RoHS certification, and safe overload ratings of 150% of capacity with an ultimate overload rating of 300% of capacity. Metric ranges are available upon consultation with Engineering.
