Supported Applications
The Omega PR-13 Series consists of Quick Disconnect RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) probes featuring a heavy-duty, integral male connector. These assemblies are designed for liquid temperature measurement in containers or fixed installation within pipes, tanks, and vessels using optional compression fittings.
- Container insertion for liquid monitoring
- Pipe, tank, or vessel mounting with 'BRLK' or 'SSLK' compression fittings
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series offers three distinct performance envelopes defined by model family: PR-13L (Low), PR-13H (High), and PR-13E (Extreme). All models utilize a standard TCR of 0.00385 Ω/Ω/°C with nominal resistances of 100 Ω or 1000 Ω at 0°C.
- PR-13L Process Temperature Range: -50 to 250°C (-58 to 482°F)
- PR-13H Process Temperature Range: -50 to 450°C (-58 to 842°F); Accuracy is Class A from -50 to 300°C (-58 to 572°F), or else Class B
- PR-13E Process Temperature Range: -200 to 600°C (-328 to 1112°F); Accuracy is Class A from -100 to 450°C (-148 to 842°F), or else Class B
The probes carry an IP67 ingress protection rating. Mechanical durability specifications include a vibration test per IEC 60068-2-6 (5 to 2000 Hz sweep rate, one active per minute; number of sweep cycles 10 and acceleration 5g) and shock resistance per IEC 60068-2-27 (50g/11ms).
Response Time by Diameter
- PR-13L: 1/8" diameter: 2.4 sec; 3/16" diameter: 2.8 sec; 1/4" diameter: 3.25 sec
- PR-13H: 1/8" diameter: 2.8 sec; 3/16" diameter: 4.11 sec; 1/4" diameter: 5.41 sec
- PR-13E: 1/8" diameter: 9 sec; 3/16" diameter: 9.8 sec; 1/4" diameter: 10.6 sec
Configuration Options
The PR-13 Series is configurable across probe diameters, lengths, resistance elements, and connection types to meet specific installation requirements.
- Diameters: Available in 1/8", 3/16", or 1/4"
- Standard Lengths: Probes are offered in standard lengths of 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24 inch. Other lengths may be built using the configurator.
- Resistance Elements: PT100 or PT1000
- Connector Type: Large 3-prong Omega 'OTP' style connector (integral male; female sold separately)
- Process Connections: Optional 'BRLK' or 'SSLK' compression fittings for fixed mounting
Key Product Differences
The series is differentiated by the temperature range and accuracy class associated with each model prefix. The PR-13L designation covers low-range applications, while PR-13H supports higher temperatures up to 450°C (-58 to 842°F). The PR-13E variant extends capability for extreme conditions from -200 to 600°C (-328 to 1112°F).
- Model numbers follow the pattern: PR-13[L/H/E] - [Temperature Range Code] - [Resistance Element] - [Connector Type] - [Diameter] - [Length]
