Supported Applications

The Omega RHCN-7000 Series is a microprocessor-based Relative Humidity On/Off Controller designed for humidifying or dehumidifying applications. The series provides simple on/off control and is compatible with RH transmitters offering 0 to 1 Vdc, 0 to 3 Vdc, or 4 to 20 mA inputs. An optional humidity probe (RHCN-7000-RP) is available for models RHCN-7005 and RHCN-7006.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The instrument measures a Relative Humidity Range of 0 to 100% RH with an accuracy of ±1% RH. When used with the optional probe, the system accuracy is ±6% RH, and the probe's specific measurement range is 25 to 90% RH (±5% RH @ 25°C). The controller features a bright green 3-digit LED display with 1-digit resolution.

Operating temperature limits are specified as 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F), while storage temperatures range from -20 to 80°C (-4 to 176°F). The front panel carries an IP64 rating. Power requirements depend on the model, supporting either 110 Vac or 230 Vac.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple input configurations and voltage options across six primary models:

• RHCN-7001 / RHCN-7002: 0 to 1 Vdc input (110 Vac or 230 Vac).
• RHCN-7003 / RHCN-7004: 4 to 20 mA input (110 Vac or 230 Vac).
• RHCN-7005 / RHCN-7006: 0 to 3 Vdc input (110 Vac or 230 Vac), compatible with the optional RH probe.

All models feature an 8 A SPDT relay output rated at 250 Vac resistive, capable of controlling loads up to ½ HP. The controller includes nonvolatile memory backup and password protection for programming parameters. User-defined settings include setpoint (SP), differential or hysteresis (r0), low/high value setpoints (r1/r2), heating/cooling control type (d0), minimum stop time (c0), continuous cycle time (c1), probe adjustment shifting (P1), and parameter access codes.

Physical dimensions for the instrument are 64 x 25 mm (2.5 x 0.98"), requiring a panel cutout of 71 x 29 mm (2 5/8 x 1 1/8"). The unit weighs 65 g (2.3 oz). A field-installable noise suppression RC snubber (CNQUENCHARC) is available as an accessory.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the RHCN-7000 Series differ primarily by input signal type and line voltage. Models ending in 1 or 3 accept 0 to 1 Vdc or 4 to 20 mA inputs respectively, while models ending in 5 are configured for 0 to 3 Vdc inputs. The even-numbered counterparts (RHCN-7002, RHCN-7004, RHCN-7006) provide the same input capabilities but operate on 230 Vac power supplies.

The optional humidity probe (model RHCN-7000-RP) is restricted to use with models RHCN-7005 and RHCN-7006. This probe provides a 0 to 3 Vdc output signal. The instrument-only specifications apply to all controller units, whereas system accuracy values of ±6% RH are specific to configurations including the optional probe.
