Supported Applications

The Omega PX35/PXM35 series comprises high-accuracy, millivolt output industrial pressure transducers designed for general process measurement. These units are engineered to operate in harsh environments and can be configured with hermetically sealed gage options. The series supports Gage, Sealed Gage, and Absolute Pressure measurements across a wide range of media types.

Documented compatible media include:

  • Gas
  • Light Oil
  • Dense Liquid

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PX35/PXM35 series delivers a combined accuracy of 0.25% linearity, hysteresis and repeatability. The transducers are constructed with an all stainless steel housing and utilize 17-4 PH stainless steel for wetted materials.

Performance is maintained within the following environmental limits:

  • Ambient Temperature: 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F)
  • Process Temperature: -73 to 149°C (-100 to 300°F)

The series is rated for a pressure rating of 150% of rated pressure and features a burst pressure capability of 300% of rated pressure. Electrical excitation requires 10 Vdc, with a maximum limit of 15 V.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options for process connections, electrical terminations, and measurement ranges to suit specific installation requirements.

Process Connections

  • PX35 Series (Standard Units): ¼-18 NPT-M or F; ⅜-20 UNF-M or F. For ranges ≥10,000 psi, a ¼ HP tube fitting is required.
  • PXM35 Series (Metric Models): G¼B Female connections are available for metric configurations.

Electrical Connections & Output

The standard electrical termination includes a 3 m (10') 4-conductor shielded cable. Alternatively, the series supports a PTIH-10-6P twist-lock 6 pin connector option. The output signal is provided as mV/V.

Measurement Ranges

  • PX35 (Standard Units): Available from 0 to 15 psi up to 0 to 30,000 psi. Specific high-pressure ranges include 7,500, 10,000, 15,000, 20,000, and 30,000 psi.
  • PXM35 (Metric Models): Available from 0 to 1.0 bar up to 0 to 400 bar.

Options & Accessories

The series supports the following options and accessories:

  • Oxygen Service: Cleaned for oxygen service (Option OX).
  • Snubbers: PS-4G-MG Gas Snubber, PS-4E-MG Lt Oil Snubber, PS-4D-MG Dense Liquid Snubber.
  • Cable Assemblies: CA-4TE24-2-015 cable assembly with twist-lock 6 pin connector (sold separately).

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into two primary model families based on unit standards and pressure port configurations.

  • PX35 Series: Designed for standard units in psi. Model numbers follow the format PX35/[PXM35]-[PRESSURE PORT]-[ELECTRICAL CONNECTION]-[RANGE]-[UNITS]-[OUTPUT].
  • PXM35 Series: Designed for metric models in bar.

Variations within the model number indicate specific pressure types: 'G' denotes Gage Pressure, 'S' indicates Sealed Gage Pressure (ordered by replacing 'G'), and 'A' specifies Absolute Pressure. High-pressure ranges of 10,000 psi and above require the use of a ¼ HP tube fitting as indicated in the model configuration.
