The Omega FPD3300 Series positive displacement flow meters are designed for the accurate measurement of solvents and other non-abrasive lubricating fluids. Utilizing an oval rotor design, these instruments provide reliable performance across a wide range of fluid viscosities and flow rates. The series is suitable for both gravity-fed systems and in-line pump applications.
Key operational characteristics include:

- Maintenance of consistent accuracy despite changing viscosity conditions
- High resolution and high accuracy at low flow rates
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FPD3300 Series operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F). The meters feature an aluminum body with NEMA 6 (IP67) enclosure ratings. Wetted materials include stainless steel rotors and FEP seals.
Performance specifications are defined by model size, viscosity, and pressure limits:
- Accuracy: ±0.5% of reading
- Repeatability: ±0.03%
- Pressure Ratings: Vary by model size from 175 psi (1206 kPa) for the FPD3308 up to 2002 psi (13790 kPa) for models such as the FPD3304, FPD3334, and FPD3305.
- Flow Ranges: Span from 0.5 LPH (0.13 GPH) on low-flow configurations to 733 LPM (193 GPM) for larger port sizes with high viscosity fluids (> 5 cPs).
Data location varies by size: models 1/4" - 2" have data etched in the pulser cavity, while 3" and 4" units locate this information on the footmount.
Configuration Options
The series supports a broad envelope of configurations to accommodate specific installation needs. Standard models provide pulse output for external data loggers or PLCs. Optional digital displays are available in two power configurations:
- Battery Powered Display (-D): Includes an integrated LCD with 3 Vdc lithium battery (included).
- DC Powered Display and Transmitter (-D-A): Provides a display powered by 18 to 30 Vdc plus a 4 to 20 mA output signal.
Mechanical configurations include:
- Port Sizes: Available from ¼" through 4" (FPD3302, FPD3303, FPD3304, FPD3334, FPD3305, FPD3306, FPD3307, FPD3308, and FPD3309).
- Process Connections: Standard NPT (Female); optional BSP connections (-BSP). Flange options for 1" and larger sizes include DIN (-DIN), JIS (-JIS), and ANSI (-ANSI).
- Rotor Options: High viscosity rotors are available by adding the -HV option.
A Y or Basket type mesh strainer is recommended for installation to prevent damage from dirt or foreign matter. Recommended strainer sizes vary by meter size: 200 mesh (74 µm) for ¼" models, 60 mesh (250 µm) for ½" through 2", and specific recommendations apply for larger flanged units.
Key Product Differences
The FPD3300 Series distinguishes itself from the broader family by offering integrated digital display options directly on the meter body. The series includes models with standard pulse output only, battery-powered displays (-D), and DC-powered displays with 4 to 20 mA transmitters (-D-A).
Dimensional variations are significant across port sizes:
- Standard Models (Pulse Only): Overall dimensions range from approximately 59 mm (2.3") for the FPD3302 to larger footprints for flanged models.
- -D Options (Battery Display): Add height and length; for example, the FPD3302-D measures 90 mm (3.5") in dimension F compared to 59 mm (2.3") on the standard model.
The series also offers specific rotor identification features: Active Rotors are identified by a dimple on the face, while Neutral Rotors have a smooth leading face. Models FPD3308 and FPD3309 require reference to the operator's manual for detailed dimensional drawings.
