Supported Applications
The Sensore Micro-Oxygen Sensor series (Models SO-D0-XXX-AXXXC & SO-B0-XXX) provides mini oxygen sensor board mount solutions for measuring Oxygen O₂ concentration. Utilizing Zirconium Dioxide (ZrO2) technology, the sensors are designed for applications requiring high accuracy and stable characteristics with minimal interference from other gases. The series supports measurement ranges spanning 10 ppm O₂ to 96% oxygen.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The SO-B0-xxx sensor family operates within a surface temperature limit of less than 70°C during operation, with the TO8 housing rated for a maximum operating temperature of 70 °C. The sensors exhibit negligible pressure influence at atmospheric pressure and require an excitation voltage of 3.6 volts (depending on application). Performance specifications vary by model range:
- Response time (t90): < 12 seconds.
- Warm up time: Min. 30 s.
- Lifetime (MTTF): Typical 10 years.
- Vibration resistance: Sensors meet the European Norm EN60068-2-6 (Sinusoidal vibration tests).
Accuracy and reproducibility are defined per measuring range. For example, model SO-B0-001 offers an accuracy of ± 20 ppm O₂ with reproducibility < 10 ppm O₂ across the 10 ppm O₂ - 1000 ppm O₂ range. Model SO-B0-960 provides an accuracy of ± 1.00 % O₂ and reproducibility < 0.2 % O₂ for the 1.00 % O₂ - 96.0 % O₂ range.
Characteristic Data by Model
- SO-B0-001: Range 10 ppm O₂ - 1000 ppm O₂; Output current 150 μA - 250 μA at 1000 ppm O₂, balance N₂.
- SO-B0-010: Range 0.01 % O₂ - 1.0 % O₂; Accuracy ± 100 ppm O₂.
- SO-B0-020: Range 0.01 % O₂ - 2.0 % O₂; Accuracy ± 200 ppm O₂.
- SO-B0-050: Range 0.05 % O₂ - 5.0 % O₂; Accuracy ± 500 ppm O₂.
- SO-B0-250: Range 0.10 % O₂ - 25.0 % O₂; Output current 100 μA - 200 μA at 20.9 % O₂, balance N₂ (air).
- SO-B0-960: Range 1.00 % O₂ - 96.0 % O₂; Output current 15 μA - 30 μA at 20.9 % O₂, balance N₂ (air).
The sensor bias voltage ranges from 0.7 to 1.6 volts depending on the model and application. Power consumption is typically 1.5 watts.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable electronics options alongside the standard board mount sensors. The Generic Sensor Board (GSB) provides a standard connection for board (solder) or cable mount sensors, accepting power supply from 6-25VDC with nominal 12VDC at 0.5A.
Available output signal types include:
- Linear analog outputs: 0-5VDC and 4-20mA.
- Digital RS232 outputs.
- Digital I/O open collector outputs.
The standard housing is TO8 with overall dimensions of Ø 15.3 mm; H= 13.7 mm and a pin distance of 7.18 mm. Electrical connections utilize a Pin Connection Standard Housing (TO8) configured as: Pins 1. H+ (HS+), 2. H- (HS-), 3. Sent+, 4. Sen-. Custom electronics boards are also available.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between specific measuring ranges via model codes SO-B0-xxx, where the suffix indicates the range capability:
- SO-B0-001: 10 ppm O₂ - 1000 ppm O₂.
- SO-B0-010 / SO-B0-020: Low percentage ranges (up to 2.0 %).
- SO-B0-050: Mid-range up to 5.0 % O₂.
- SO-B0-250 / SO-B0-960: High percentage ranges extending to air (20.9 %) and up to 96.0 % O₂.
Note: Operation outside the specified measuring range can cause permanent damage of the electrode. The maximum permissible operating temperature for the sensor element is listed as 350 °C depending on assembly, while the housing limit remains at 70 °C during operation.
