Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-3RV Series consists of NEMA Type 3R power vented outdoor enclosures designed to house electrical controls, drives, instruments, and components requiring weatherproof protection and active cooling. These units are engineered for environments where rain, sleet, or snow ingress is a concern while maintaining internal temperature management through integrated ventilation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series meets IS7 Industry Standards for protection against solid foreign objects and water ingress (rain, sleet, snow). Enclosures are constructed from 0.075 thick galvannealed steel with a white powder coating applied inside and out. The integrated cooling system utilizes one or two fans powered by 115 Vac at 60/50 Hz drawing 0.26 A (with finger guard).

System airflow capacity varies by model configuration:

• SCE-29VR2412, SCE-35VR2412, and SCE-41VR2412 models provide 107 CFM @ 60Hz with one 6" fan.
• SCE-47VR2414 and SCE-53VR3616 models provide 300 CFM @ 60Hz with one 10" fan.
• The SCE-65VR3616 model provides 600 CFM @ 60Hz using two 10" fans.

Enclosure ratings include UL Listed Type 3R, CSA Type 3R, and IEC 60529 IP32. Physical dimensions across the series range from a height of 29 to 65 inch, width of 24 to 36 inch, depth of 12 to 16 inch, and an overall depth of 17.7 to 21.6 inch.

Configuration Options

The SCE-3RV series offers configurable dimensions based on the model number format: SCE-<HEIGHT>-<WIDTH>-<DEPTH>. Key structural and functional features include:

• Housing & Door: Black quarter-turn latches, padlockable wing knob, doors that open 180°, concealed hinges, and an oil-resistant gasket.
• Ventilation System: Weatherproof vented top hood with bug screen; top-mounted fan(s) integrated into a vented rain hood compatible with filter kits.
• Mounting & Grounding: DIN rail mounting provisions, ground studs, and a 3/8-16 grounding kit. Mounting holes are provided for optional straps.
• Subpanel Provisions: Internal space accommodates subpanels with specific model numbers corresponding to enclosure size (e.g., SCE-24P24 through SCE-60P36).

Available accessories include mounting strap kits and replacement filters tailored to the enclosure width:

• SCE-VRMS24: Mounting straps (2 per kit) for 24" wide enclosures.
• SCE-VRMS36: Mounting straps (2 per kit) for 36" wide enclosures.
• SCE-FLT66: Replacement filter for 24" wide models (2 required).
• SCE-FLT88: Replacement filter for 36" wide models (2 required).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the SCE-3RV series are distinguished by physical dimensions, fan configuration, and resulting airflow capacity. The six available model numbers correspond to specific height, width, and depth combinations:

• SCE-29VR2412, SCE-35VR2412, SCE-41VR2412: 24" wide x 12" deep enclosures with heights of 29", 35", and 41" respectively. Each utilizes one 6" fan.
• SCE-47VR2414: 24" wide x 14" deep enclosure, 47" high, utilizing one 10" fan.
• SCE-53VR3616 and SCE-65VR3616: 36" wide x 16" deep enclosures with heights of 53" and 65". The smaller unit uses one 10" fan, while the larger unit employs two 10" fans.
