FL4200-4600-Series

Supported Applications

The Omega FL4200–4600 Series consists of OEM-style acrylic variable area flow meters designed for measuring the flow rate of water and air. These units are precisely machined from solid acrylic blocks and feature direct-reading scales calibrated for specific media ranges.

• Water: 6.5 GPH to 20 GPM
• Air: 2 SCFH to 40 SCFM

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is rated for specific process temperatures and pressures depending on the media type:

• Air Process Temperature: 21°C (70°F) to 38°C (100°F) at 0 psig
• Water Process Temperature: 21°C (70°F) to 54°C (130°F) at 0 psig

Pressure ratings are defined as follows:

• Air: 100 psig @ 21°C (70°F)
• Water: 125 psig @ 21°C (70°F)

The minimum flow rate is specified as 10% of the maximum flow rate listed for each model. Accuracy and repeatability vary by series family:

• FL4200: 6/2%
• FL4300 and FL4400: 4/1%
• FL4500: 3/12%
• FL4600: 2/12%

Configuration Options

The series supports a range of configurations including scale lengths, process connections, and optional features. Scale lengths are available in 50, 75, 127, and 250 mm (1.97, 2.96, 5, and 9.85").

• FL4200: ¼ FNPT
• FL4300 and FL-4500: ¼ FNPT x ½ MNPT
• FL4400: 1 MNPT
• FL4600: ½ FNPT

Wetted Materials

• Acrylic tube
• 316 SS float and guide rod (no guide rod for FL4211 through FL4215 air meters)
• PVC end fittings (brass on FL4200 Series)
• EPR O-rings

Options & Accessories

• Metering Valves: Available by adding suffix 'V' to the model number.
• Rear Inserts: Provided for panel mounting; FL4200 requires ¼" holes drilled through the panel due to ⅜" hex lock nuts around ports.
• Calibration Certificates: Optional NIST calibration certificate available (add 'NIST 5PT' or 'NIST 10PT' to model number).
• Warranty & Compliance: Optional 1 YEAR WARRANTY and RoHS compliance options are offered.

The series is divided into five distinct families (FL4200, FL4300, FL4400, FL4500, FL4600), each with specific dimensional profiles and performance characteristics. The model number guide follows the format: FL4000 - - - . For example, FL4303-V denotes an acrylic variable area flow meter with a 3.5 GPM flow rate and valve option.

• FL4200 Series features PVC end fittings (brass on this series) and specific mounting requirements for panel installation.
• Floats are rod-guided in most models, except for the FL4211 through FL4215 air meters which do not include a guide rod.
